Personally I didn't think much of him at first; thought he was cool when I was smug-villager plot resetting, but my aims weren't set on him, not to mention I didn't know anything about his popularity since I didn't know about the forums at the time. Eventually I found out the forums and stuff and I still thought he was cool but not really any cooler.

Got to talk to him through a dream and in a different town just some time ago, and now I think he's kinda cute, too. lolll... I honestly don't understand how he's "plain" as people say; I think he looks good. There shouldn't be anything wrong with a villager less "flashy" than some others, if that's what they're talking about.

...Ohhh welllll... maybe I'll never know.

He was among the first random move ins in my town. At first i had no interest on keeping him but he grew on me, so he's pretty cool.

I enjoy his simplistic design. He's one of my favorite 3 smug villagers. Do I think he is overhyped? Nah. What I DO think is overhyped is the stupidity of the whole "I don't like him because he's popular hurrr"

I didn't even know who he was until I joined this forum, lol. I usually don't like characters if I don't like their design (shallow, I know), and he's cute but I don't feel strongly about him either way.

I actually find him quite adorable and he's one of my dreamies. ♥ Ever since I first began playing Animal Crossing, I loved the squirrel's design. When New Leaf was released, I began to really enjoy the smug personality. Once I found out that there was a smug squirrel, well, I fell in love! Personally, he's extremely cute and I love his "marshmallow" design. My town is largely based on a forest, as I very much enjoy nature, hiking, and camping. Of course, s'mores are my favorite sweet, so I cannot wait until I can have Marshal in my town!

I've never had him in my town but his design is cute. Cutest squirrel in the game, in my opinion. He doesn't actually appeal to me, though.

I find him cute and fun to use as an art model. I won't lie and say he's not overrated but I'm kind of used to seeing things idolized to such degrees in this day and age.
