Your nostalgic villagers

I was inspired by another thread, but i'm curious. For those who played the older games/grew up with animal crossing.. Can you remember your very first town? Your very first villagers? Do you have any of them in your new horizons town now?

My first towns name in the gamecube version was sunny, and oranges were my native fruit..

Some of my first and most nostalgic villagers were/are olive, bob, teddy, static, purrl, portia, sydney, maple, marcy, blaire, bubbles, lucky, scoot, lobo, and eloise. wolfgang, gabi, freya, poncho, tad, emerald, and coco were also around eventually.

Then in wild world, ruby, apollo, and stitches..

City folk it was all about chester, gala, marcel, and knox.

I jumped at the chance to bring olive to my island with an amiibo. I also got gala's. The rest of them I still have a soft spot for, and I lucked out with stitches as a camper, but I haven't felt the need to bring the rest back. If they ever make a return of marcy or champ, (someone I have always wanted but never got!) they're on my invite list! Despite the sentimentality for my old original villagers, I have found a lot of new faves in new leaf and now, new horizons, where dom is my most favorite villager yet.

TLDR: are any of your current villagers nostalgia based? How do you connect with villagers/decide whos a favorite? Perhaps it's solely just the way they look to you, or how often they talk to you? For me it's a mix of all the above I think.

I only played new leaf. But I have 2 villigers that I fell in love with them there and had to have them in NH. Chadder and Zucker.

I still remember all my other villigers from new leaf. makes me happy to meet them in other towns, but I dont ivite them in mine. besides these 2 that I already have, I'm trying to find new villigers.

Oranges were my first native fruit, and Tangy is the only villager I remember being in that town. I had a habit of frequently restarting my villages as a kid instead of playing "all the way through" so to speak, and I always regretted leaving Tangy behind. Someday I'll pick her up in ACNH!

I started with Animal Crossing gamecube! My mom had gotten like 6 games at a garage sale for $1 each and I think that's where we got Animal Crossing from. My brothers and I named our town New York (affectionately called New Yuck by us because we had the idea to go forward 20 years and had tons of weeds, but since have changed it back to the correct time). We have oranges, and a lot of our original villagers are still there. Most notable are Huck, Bill, Teddy, Bengal, Bunnie, Grizzly, Camofrog, Daisy, Peaches, and Opal. Of course, being gamecube, some of them were very rude and Opal was objectively hated by us. I do NOT like Bengal either, and Bunnie is walking on thin ice. We've had other villagers move in and out, but those were the core ones I remember.

The only other game I've had aside from New Horizons is City Folk, but it's been a little longer since I played that one so I don't recall the core villagers right now. I remember trying to befriend Rhonda, but that's all until I log into it again.

Cherries were my first fruit, and Bob was the first person I met so I will always love him.

I have so many memories of people from Lalaland. Apollo and Wolfgang were always looking out for me, even if they were mean at first. Mitzi was my best friend, other than Bob, and when Bob moved out Punchy moved in to comfort me ( It was GC so they didn't tell you when they moved... it was so heartbreaking ). Olivia and Francine were rude but so pretty I wanted to be just like them. Jeremiah and Wart Jr always hung out so I thought he was his dad, same with Rolf and Bianca. Hopper, Aurora, and Cube were some of my best friends, and all three of them were always together,.

Cyrano, Gaston, and Cookie I don't remember too much but I remember them so I'm fond of seeing them, too.

I can remember two villagers from my GC town that I was always talking to: Rosie and Hazel the squirrel (who is now called Sally in newer titles), I always really miss them but they're just not my style as I've grown up. I will always be super fond of them though. Chief was my best friend in Wild World so I always feel nostalgic for him also.

For GameCube, my starting villagers were Cupcake, Bob, Pippy, Apollo, Ed, and Deena. I ran into Pippy on a NH island and invited her. Also fond of Bob and Apollo. Other mainstays in my town were Kiki, Ribbot,

For Wild World, my starting villagers were Baabara, Limberg, and Roald. Not too attached to any of them, but Roald was probably the favorite. My current Wild World lineup is excellent considering it's all random. I have Kiki, Ribbot, Octavian, Biskit, Whitney, Blaire, Tangy, and Lobo.

For City Folk, my starting villagers were Tangy, I think Stitches, and I forget who else - I didn't play City Folk as much as the other games.

For New Leaf, my starting villagers were Merengue, Maelle, Elvis, Jeremiah, and Bubbles. I adored Merengue! She's the longest resident of my NL town, she still lives there today! However, I was really lucky with my first four random move-ins in that town - I got Skye, Blanche, and Kyle who all became permanent residents of my town! Diana was also a random camper who I asked to move in and I loved her.

pears were my first fruit in wild world! i don't remember which ones were my starters, but i had baabara, friga, rod, camofrog, stitches, lobo at some point! i remember baabara and friga were my "best friends" because i loved their snooty personalities, and i was seven and in love with camofrog for some ungodly reason. i'd love to see my town again and revisit the game but have since lost my game cartridge camofrog is a dreamie now just because i find it hilarious that i would write all these stupid lovestruck messages to a cranky camouflage frog.

in new leaf, i had peaches and (don't remember who my starters were) played it for such a long time - i had so many villagers i can barely remember who i had. but a lot of my dreamies/favourite villagers developed out of this game: zucker, marina, ruby, maple!

I started with WW, I don't remember much, only that Kitt was my best friend, she gave me her picture and then just left without me being able to do anything against it. I think I cried (I was young ok ? Haha). I waited so long for her to come back. Obviously never happened.
I wanted to get her in New Leaf bug it didn't happen either, I hope to meet her while island hopping on new horizons now. Though it would be a bit weird, not the same Kitt, no memories, nothing, I don't know.
I don't remember having a favourite villager in New Leaf, maybe Freya, I do remember though all the villagers I wanted out but were so unwilling to leave (Hamphrey and Paula, I deeply hope never to meet you again. Ever.).

I had apples as my native fruit in both I believe.

So my first was GCN. I can’t remember all of them but certainly: Bitty (hippo), Amelia (eagle), Emerald (frog; cut in the next entries ), Hazel (or now known as Sally, squirrel), Peanut (squirrel), Aziz (bear, is he still in the game?), Cheri (cub), Tom (cat), Goldie (dog).

I also remember a japanese pig that was cut in later games but can’t remember his name .

I can’t remember if I had all those simultaneously (probably not).

I miss Genji from city folk. I went into wii a few months ago. It was so sad!!! Weeds everywhere and all my villagers said it’s been years, where have you been? Some were mad some were sad...

my first game was ww! i remember having monique, biskit, lobo and tangy as some of my first villagers and loving them lol, i actually invited monique to my nh town when i saw her on an island bc of it

My first game was GCN. My native fruit was Cherries (and the reason I wanted cherries as my native in NH). The villagers I remember having at the beginning were Bones, Bill, Pecan, Filbert, and Quetzal I believe. I also had Tutu, Punchy, Lucky, Robin, and Portia at some point as well. I love all these villagers, but the one that will always be very nostalgic is Bones. I was obsess with dogs, they were my favorite as a kid, he was silly, nice and had a cool house with gyroids that I really liked collecting.

I had only played NL. But I do know I was very fond of Lolly because she had been a starter villager for me and would like to find her. It would also be nice to maybe see Midge and Vic again too!

I don’t remember for WW, but for NL I was absolutely in love with Colton!! He used to write me letters and send me gifts like everyday, I loved him and never let him move out! His house interior was pretty cool too!

I bought his amiibo recently just so I could load him into NH but I’ve been waiting for someone to move out organically because I feel bad about forcing a villager out, lol.

My first was WW and I had Kabuki i believe! so seeing him is very nostalgic!

My first town was in Wild World, I called it Aniworld (short for Animal World because I was not a creative 9 year old).
My first villagers were Pudge, Tank and Limberg.
The first fish I ever caught was a yellow perch. And the first gyroid I ever found was a tall quazioid. I don’t know why I remember that, but I do.

I only remember Tangy, Moe, and Portia from my Wild World town. Moe is my favorite villager of all time, but I remember hating portia, i thought she was so mean lol

I really wish I had played the games before New Leaf, it amazes me that villagers could be so mean. But alas New Leaf was my first.

Cesar, Peanut, Cally, Paula, Violet, Alfonso, Kidd all give me strong nostalgia
