Hey all! I've recently started a brand new ACNL town and am having some serious designer's block when it comes to decorating my house, which is lame because the decorating is typically one of my favorite aspects of the game. I'm hoping you all can inspire me by showing me your favorite room (or rooms!) that you've designed and telling me why you chose the items you did, and if I can draw some inspiration from a few of your rooms I may send over a small TBT prize.

So, post some photos and brag about your beautiful house!

Woah Oblivia! The most chill mod of them all! :>>> <3

Anyway my room in my old town had a bunch of Pok?mon/ insects in my house. I pretended I was a BugCatcher from Pok?mon lel

Sounds super cute, but being the visual person I am I need to see photos!

This room is one I made recently in my new town. It's nothing specific, it was a mixture of wooden colors and designs put together to make kinda like a cafe feel room? Maybe like an old-timey kitchen? I'm not sure, but this is my favorite room :)

My favourite room is my mayor's basement! It's a witches workroom and I love how it turned out

if youre having trouble with designing, what i do is design my room in HHD and then collect the furniture pieces and style my house like that! :D its really helpful since in HHD you can try different styles in a snap but with NL its kind of a process to get all the pieces then find out you dont need it after haha

i lost my 3ds somewhere in the depths of my room so i cant post a pic, but i made the back room of my house into a backyard since god forbid our fences serve any purpose besides decoration rather than for yard purposes. some furniture is meant to be used outSIDE.

Yess, I do the same! It's a million times easier to arrange everything in HDD and see all of your options before going though the trouble of gathering all of the items in acnl only to find out that they didn't go together the way you thought. I love HHD because of that.

My favorite room is the one in my very first mayor's basement. It has the classic carpet and blue wall. I had Cyrus remake the polka dot furniture in blue with brown spots. Then I set down about four of the powder blue mushroom lamps from the mushroom series. The table is decorated with the twelve grape plate and chocolate cake which tied into the green of the carpet and the brown of the polka dots. Since it is the basement with no natural light from windows, the mushroom lamps give the room this magical blue glow. I really love it.

My two favorite rooms are mush series and like a greenhouse/backyard theme. My mayor is a fairy princess of the seasons so these are her fall and spring rooms. :D

I don't have any pictures and I only have vague memories since this was ~a year a half ago!

I had my upstairs full room set up like a princess-ish room. I don't think I used anything from the princess set aside from the chest. I made my own carpet and walls, they looked like this but pale pink and off white.

I had a classic bed, ice lamp x2, music box, princess chest, the actual furniture item genie lamp, bird cage, and a few other items that I can't find/remember the name of. I did have a few blue or pink roses set out iirc.

None of my rooms are finished, but here are my two favorite/mostly completed rooms! All my rooms are supposed to have at least a vague sunset or night sky theme.

I will be adding some more to this room, probably a blue regal bookshelf down by where the sofa is, and some princess items such as the princess clock and princess curio to fill up some blank space.

Main room: living room
This one is fairly completed, but I will add more. I plan to put some sort of bookshelf in the upper right, probably a white rococo shelf, and a princess cage somewhere as well. I'm also adding a lot more marshmallow chairs around the table, and some white, blue, or green light to balance out all that pink. And a sweets record player!

The first room is so beautiful! I actually love how empty it is, but the princess furniture would look great with the regal stuff. Actually, my favourite room has that combo:

Good luck with your new town!

I've posted pics of these rooms before but here goes again.

This is the main room in mayor Katsu's house. It's inspired by those antique furniture stores. I tried to make it look old with the color and item choices such as the bookshelves, typewriter, cool globe, bottled ship, vintage telescope and fireplace.

Here's mayor Katsu's basement, aka her dusty antique furniture dump. I was wanting to do something new with the rococo set and came up with this idea. I really like the combination! The cardboard set's probably my favorite set, it's surprisingly versatile.

I can definitely see where you were going with that! I think I may actually use that carpet in my main room.

That is so creative and unique. I'd love to see the rest of your mayor's house - do you have a dream address I could visit?

Ahh I'm sure that would work, but I actually never bothered to pick up HHD due to having little to no time for games. -_- I'll have to stick with going at it blindly for now!

The Mush Series is definitely one of my favorites, and I love what you did with the dog figurines! I may have to grab those for one of my rooms.

I LOVE the Lunar Horizon, and the customized Regal set looks amazing paired with it. That's definitely a theme I could work with.

That room looks incredible, dizzy. The Tile Screen is one of my favorite items that was added with the update and I definitely play to incorporate that into one of my rooms. You've also made perfect use of the space - I love when I'm able to come up with a design that allows for as may items as possible and still looks neat and organized. Great work, and I'd love to check out the rest of your house!

Good luck with your new town!

I love the first room - it looks so stately and homey! And the theme reads loud and clear in your basement... I never would have thought to combine Rococo with Cardboard but you've made it work amazingly.

I'll be sending a few TBT bells over to you all in just a bit, and thanks for sharing your rooms with me. :)
