Your biggest animal crossing regret?

I was talking to a friend this morning and it got me thinking about things others may regret about their animal crossing journeys...

Mine is that I had gotten 75% through making a Narnia theme town then sold it without even making a dream address so I could go back and visit my progress... It had all its villagers that I chose very carefully and most of them were saying appropriate things depending on if they were for Aslan (Elvis) or the white witch. The town layout was perfect, I had Lucy living in the professors house right below the plaza so the tree could be the tree that the wardrobe is made from, there was a big empty space next to it for the woods with the lamp post and Tumnus's house (Gruff's house). I had Hans by the waterfall like Shift, Edmund had the white witch's castle surrounded by icy paths and full of statues, I had Diana (not a stag, but white), town hall by the campsite and Peters house at cair paravel and Susan's house was going to be the beavers home. I had such amazing plans and I scrimped and saved for my villagers and furniture, and it's gone without a trace. I really wish I had kept it at this point because I just don't have it in me to recreate everything I had done.

So. Anyone else have stories of regret or woe regarding poor animal crossing choices?

Getting rid of my last town. I had so many villagers that I liked...Beau, Marshal, Ankha, Freya, Pashmina...and they were all regular move-ins!

I've taken to resetting my 3DS periodically to help myself forget how many hours I've put into it.

To answer the question though, I deleted my original town a couple months ago. I don't necessarily regret deleting the town itself, but I really miss about 5 of my villagers from that town. So I'd say I regret not including them in my new town.

My only regret is not knowing you could pick a different starting map! When I first got the game, obviously I went with the first map I saw. I sometimes wish I had picked a different one given a choice.

Probably my refusal to plot reset. I wanna make my town look good but that's kinda hard when my villagers are scattered so randomly.

Not learning all the tips and tricks before I started my first town. Once I learned how to plot reset for good spots I was okay, but now I have some villagers in areas I don't like but I don't want to get rid of them. So my map is kind of messy and I have weird empty spaces. I've been learning to fill up the empty spots though using inspiration from other towns, so it's not all bad.

The map I chose -___- I like the layout but there are five ponds and rocks in awful spots. I don't want to reset, because of my dreamies, all the stuff I collected, I'm nearly done decorating, etc.

... I should have just reset my town afterwards and picked a new map. It wouldn't have been as hindering at the start as it would be now.

Not resetting for a better map in the beginning. ._____. Now that I've had my town for over a year and have 9/10 dreamies, all my houses decorated, and a good start on landscaping, I feel it'd be a shame to reset and lose all that progress.

I also regret not making sure the person I last traded a villager to had a clear void.. Now I have to let go of one of my dreamies to get this villager to leave. Q___Q
