That used to drive me crazy - so did the rooms full of the fortune cookie items and balloon furniture early in the game! I think those are less common now, but the customization is more common. I swore I wouldn't do it to anyone, but now I am, lol. As soon as I get my streetpass badge, though, I'm going to switch my streetpass house to an alt with better items for the showcase!

If I'm desperate for furniture but I can't seen to get it in Nooks/HH Showcase/others, I just buy them from people on this site.

Oh, I know! Every time I go to the Showcase I'm let down because it seems that EVERTHING I want is never for sale! ARGH!!! Well, I am doing what Sosu is. As I redo my house I am putting out less customised stuff and saving that for just one room so that the people I Street Pass can buy the furniture.

And I wish that you could buy Sahara walls and floors, too. I'm willing to pay extra! I can't seem to bring myself to change my room every time Sahara comes and the game won't let you choose the room she decorates, so how do you get all the wallpapers and carpets?

*sigh* I suppose come here because, thankfully, someone is always able to help out by selling or trading.

Oh, goodness, yes it does! I see so many lovely patterns. I use some myself.

I don't Street Pass people often, so I can usually have my houses the way I want them. I think I'll just change them when I go out with my DS and change them back when I return home. I also am making a balloon room for the sellable Street Pass items so that others who don't have all the balloons can get them. I don't remember if it was Sosu or another user here who does that and I think it's a great idea! So now some people in my area will have the chance to get the balloons if they don't already have them. And since they are in the basement I don't lose any points towards the (impossible for me) HHA points rewards!

And yep...I'll be able to get balloons for myself as well! I have the use of more than one 3DS so it's nice to Street Pass yourself.

Heh, yeah, I do not much care for showcased houses where you can buy nothing. I think the best showcased house I ever went into had a basement filled with every single balloon. Oh, my God, thank you.

I filled one room full of 'rare' stuff on my second game on purpose to wind people up so they can't order it, I was sick of seeing things I couldn't order in other peoples, mean I know but kind of funny lol

Yeah, it's annoying. Don't understand why they couldn't just have made it so that when you want to buy a customized item, they send you the original.

I really wish you could order customized items, I feel bad that I have a lot of customized things in my house now I streetpass with my 3DS.

Still I make it up to people with my second town, I have a full balloon set on display in the basement .

In the beginning, I hated to see custom items in the streetpass houses. I wish the game allowed you to order something even if it has been changed.
I keep the basement in my house filled with all the balloon types/colors (24 total) so anyone I streetpass can order any balloon they want.

I understand why people do it though. I get streetpass everyday so I just clear them out when I have time. It's not really a big deal to me but I see your point though. xD
