Catching/Digging/Obtaining a certain Bug/Fish/Sea Creature/Fossil/Painting and Donating it to blathers, it wastes me on average 2 to 4 minutes or more to donate multiple at once, usually hours to catch certain Bugs or Fish, 10 to 20 minutes or more to dig everything in my town, and to get a Painting at Redd's is just no. This is why I don't Catch things that I want to donate to the Museum until its almost time for the Bugs and Fish to go away until next time, digging everything in my town, and getting the right painting at Redd's.

Anyone agree or is it just me with this problem.

I think taking the time to catch new bugs and fish is one of the best parts of the game n.n I love finding new creatures and adding them to my encyclopedia and getting to look at them later in the museum. Same with fossils. Collecting the paintings though I can understand because you can only buy one at a time and there's a chance that it could be fake in which you would have to buy the same one over again. But other than that, collecting things is personally one of my favorite parts of the game. ♡

How does it take you that long to donate items? Do you hand them to Blathers one by one? You can pick multiple items at once and he'll be surprised that there's several things.

For me, collecting fossils is a bit annoying since you need to get them assessed first, but it's not a big deal. There's only a limited number of them per day and you can keep repeats to get the miniature models from Cyrus.

The artwork isn't that bad, since Redd shows up once a week and the villagers only give you paintings sometimes. I don't understand what your difficulty with Redd is? Do you have a hard time figuring out which piece of artwork is the genuine one? Are you having trouble finding him in your town?

The bugs and fish are a bit more work, but I think it's neat to do that. I was much more obsessed with collecting all of them when I started but when I'm bored, I'll take the time to find the ones I don't have yet. I really want to finish those museum rooms soon, since I really like their design and I enjoy looking at the animals there and reading the snippets of text.

Maybe it'll be easier if you don't think of it as a chore, but just as something you can do to unlock things or to make your game more complete. If you're spending a long time every day trying to find bugs and fish, of course it's going to be annoying after a while (unless you really love collecting things), so you can just do it for short periods of time when you feel like it. If you don't even enjoy collecting things and don't want the perks that come with that (like badges or a complete museum), then don't, or just take a break.

It's meant to be frustrating and time consuming. It's meant to simulate how it would be if you were doing this in real life. New Leaf is actually easier than the older games in the series as far as this goes. I don't have a problem with it, it keeps you playing the game longer than you normally would with something else. All that hard work is meant to feel rewarding. :)

no offense, but if it takes you that long to do any of this stuff on average, then you're doing a pretty ****ty job of it

How is it taking you 2-4 minutes to donate to the museum? If you donate everything at once it should take a matter of seconds.

And personally completing my museum is one of my favourite parts of Animal Crossing. And as somebody already mentioned, NL is probably the easiest by far. There are some fish/bugs in the Gamecube version and City Folk that I've still never caught.

Besides, if you don't like this aspect of the game then just don't worry about your museum and focus on the parts of the game that you enjoy. c:

paintings alone made the museum a ***** to complete in previous games

typically only one painting on sale if lucky, and no way to even tell if it was real or fake

Me too.I love getting a new bug or fish to add to the museum.Remember how exciting it was to catch your first shark? I love going in the museum and watch them swim around.

As for fossils those are the ones that waste time for me a lot, I just don't want to go out of town and have Blathers assess them and go back in town and sell them (If I have them in the Museum) I can get a good amount of bells if I sell them but I just don't want to waste the time to do it, plus turnips are my major source of getting bells so selling assessed fossils at Re-Tail is another waste of time for me.

For the paintings. Well, I'm just too lazy to go in and buy the right painting.

Okay so maybe it is me that has this problem, but thanks to your comment it made me feel its not a waste of time but catching really isn't my thing though. I might just be impatient. :p

And for those who are wondering why it takes me 2 to 4 or more minutes to donate. Only when I have more things to donate when its in my locker.

I know it takes a lot of time and effort but I actually like catching things the first time and seeing how my encyclopedia has grown. I also visit my museum from time to time to see how much is in there. Though I do agree that fishing takes a while I've actually stopped for now but its not like fishing is any easier in real life. :P and for Redd I guess you could use a guide every time he's in your town so you dont buy the wrong painting? If thats your problem with him. But yeah, jut enjoy it. It actually feels really rewarding to finish the museum. :)

Then don't? I always just collect them during my errands instead of looking out for them, unless I'm really bored, and when I have several of them, I take them to him all at once.

That's not the game's fault, though. Buying a painting from Redd takes under five minutes, so if you don't want to buy them, it's not fair to complain that it takes too much time and effort.

It sounds like you might be, or you're just spending too much time trying to do those things at once. Just try to do it while you're running your errands and only when you feel like it.

If you've unlocked the second floor of the museum, you can just run upstairs and use the lockers there.

if youre too lazy to catch/buy the things in a game that has a big collecting aspect, then you shouldnt play it at all.

Well ok then, I already know that there is lockers in the Museum. For everything you said here made my day better.

Well I don't have a problem with buying items in the game really.

I've completed my museum except for the art. I no longer dig up fossils. I buried them behind my house so they don't spawn.

Searching for the bugs and fish can be a pain sometimes, but it's so great to have it done! I will say, though, that I'm not donating hardly anything in my weeding town and it's kind of nice not to worry about. :)

If you're not enjoying this part of the game, quit collecting things for awhile.

I think trying to catch and donate everything is hard, but once you complete it, it feels so rewarding! I just finished my fossil room (today, woo!) and it felt so good. If it's getting you quite frustrated, just take a break from it for a while :]

I personally disagree with you. But it is important not to lose sight of the main point: Animal Crossing New Leaf is a game, and games are supposed to be fun. If collecting and donating wildlife to the museum is not something you find fun then you should totally stop doing it. There are plenty of other things you can be doing.

Even though I disagree with you about insect and bug collecting I can totally relate as I find diving the most horribly difficult and dull mini-game in existence. I have been ignoring it completely. One day I'll probably go back to it, but until then I am finding plenty of things that do entertain me. And I must admit I am finding catching a tuna to be the most difficult fish to find ever and I'm finding it frustrating. I'm in my third week of searching for it and before now I considered taking a week to catch a specific fish terrible
