Contest Writing Skillz!!! 1,000 tbt prize

Does it have to be related to racism? I've started writing mine and it revolves mainly around violence/loneliness and a few other things I won't spoil yet...:o
I did some research and a lot of websites said Southern Gothic usually has a lot to do with damaged/delusional characters, sometimes grotesque themes, just generally dark. Is that right? Because that's definitely what I've used to inspire mine.

Oh that works totally fine and you don't have to change anything because that fits just perfectly, I was just using racism as an example but yeah damaged characters will work great.

Okay good! Phew.

Just posting to say that I love the idea of this kind of writing contest, but I just really personally dislike the subjects chosen ... I am hoping there will be something similar later with a subject matter closer to my heart ❤️
Good luck to all the entrants :D

Oh I've already thought of that and the next one I do will probably be voted upon by you guys ;)

In typical me fashion it's already much over 3,000 words. Sigh. Looks like I have another piece for my personal writing stack ~v~

Are you able to use fictional characters that aren't yours such as characters from the bible?

Ummm honestly that would work if you wanted to do that, just make it somewhat plausible. ;)

Okay. I just didn't want to get in trouble for using a character that isn't mine. ^^;

Uh...so we can make up our own characters and use ur topic as the main idea? xD
i think the story's a bit easier though...

what is a "narrative memoir?"

I thought a personal narrative and a memoir were two different things...

Well for this assignment, I'm using it as like an order of events or part of someone's life, it's like a special event that that person had which relates to the prompt or can be fused with a theme.

Sure that will work as long as it is somewhat reasonable, I want to stay away from weird imaginary topics like a fire dragon and a celestial water spirit unless it is like a dream or inner conscious and ties into what the main idea is.
