Data mining has brought up files like “carrot”, “tomato”, “sugarcane”, “pumpkin” etc in new horizons, which led a lot of people to believe that farming would be coming to New Horizons.
Most all the releases so far have mostly been things lacking in NH that existed in other games, so this would have been a big and exciting game mechanic!

However some others suggested that it’s likely just one off items for a potential Franklin the turkey event (when we help him create a feast for everyone), which is probably what is going to happen.

Would you like to see farming (and potentially cooking?) added to animal crossing? Would it suit the game?

for sure! being a fan of Story of Seasons, I'd love to see farming + cooking incorporated into acnh as well ♡ there's currently crafting services that people are offering..imagine cooking services ahah. I also have a lil farm/field set aside for when this update (hopefully) comes.

I’d love to have farming in NH! I’d have to carve out a bit of land on Evwirt but I’m sure it would fit in my gnome city

Yeah I think farming and cooking would give the game more dimension since if you finish decorating your island there isn't really much to do while waiting for the next update.

I really, really need the food furniture items to come back, so a hard yes to cooking if it lets you do that.

I have a dedicated farm area on my island, so farming would be just fine with me. Other peoples' autumnal islands with pumpkin patches would be a joy to see too.

I said yes but I'm also a little undecided. I think it's cool when new twists are added into games, but I wonder where or how the cooking interface will look like.

Especially in acnh, it's a very clean interface and I feel like cooking will get busy.

Will our kitchen furniture act like something in Minecraft where you drag ingredients in the oven or will it be like Fantasy Life where there's a permanent kitchen set-up and then act like a mini game? I just don't know. That could make or break a game.

I would love it. :) Not sure where I'd place a farm, but I'll find the space.

I really enjoyed the game Stardew Valley and farming in the Sims, so hopefully it's similar.

Yes, I love Stardew Valley which was inspired by Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. Plus, new things are new things. What's wrong with new things? Nothing! So add new things. More to do.

I wouldn't mind some farming if it was simple to do and we could have a choice of selling or keeping whatever crops are grown. If there's cooking and it's set up like how we build DIYs,I think I'll pass.

Yo if Nintendo introduced cooking and farming for real I'd never be out of the kitchen. I cook SO MUCH in games.

Farming is one of my favorite tasks in stardew valley so I’d be happy! Just need to find space for the farming plots 😅

I feel like we get this question at least one a week haha.

I'd love cooking and maybe farming, but only if it didn't become a central mechanic and if it meshed well with the other features.

I've always loved farming games like Harvest Moon and hay day so I'd love it if they added farming to the game! I'd have to make room for a farm but it's definitely worth it if we can have more activities to do in the game and more food-related items to use to decorate the cafes and restaurants

I'm pretty sure those vegetables are all going to be part of Franklins event in some way and not farming. I could be wrong, but I could just see it being a collectathon for Franklin where we got to grind to get enough of each one to have the harvest/dinner be complete.

I don't need AC to become Harvest Moon, but if it is a way to get new materials for DIYs, yes I'd be good with that.

As much as I'm sure these are for Franklin's Event, I'd love to see farming brought into the game!
Maybe not as extensive as Story of Seasons or Stardew, but I think it could be a lot of fun!
