~Introducing The Super Sylveon Team!~
So to start this off heres the main pokemon!
Special Defense
########
move 1: Hyper Voice
move 2: Wish
move 3: Protect
move 4: Heal Bell
ability: Pixilate
item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Spa / 252 Spdef
nature: Calm
So heres the most basic set of sylveon. With its really superb special bulk it can basically tank any Special attacker's hit. With its bulk, sylveon basically becomes the medic of the team. Supply Health back to your physical and special attackers to do more damage and easily take off any hindering status that may linger on your pokemon. It can also protect to scout out any choice/band/spec pokemon and get them locked into a move that wont help them or force the switch. Thanks to its awesome ability, Pixilate. Hyper voice becomes its main STAB move, doing significant damage to any pokemon that comes in. The EVS Spread is to maximize Spdef. Bulk. Leftovers is the main item for sylveon because more hp doesnt hurt at all. Also Sylveon can come into any dragon pokemon and scare it off easily.
Just to give some calculations on sylveon's power and bulk
Bulk:
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sylveon: 91-108 (23 - 27.4%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Thundurus Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Sylveon: 85-102 (21.5 - 25.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
Power:
4 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Keldeo: 300-354 (92.8 - 109.5%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
4 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Greninja: 362-428 (126.5 - 149.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
4 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kyurem-B: 300-354 (76.5 - 90.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
4 SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Assault Vest Conkeldurr: 260-308 (62.8 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Now to Cover Sylveons 2 weakness and to add a Physical wall to the team I Present Ferrothorn!
Physical Wall
########
move 1: Leech Seed
move 2: Thunder Wave
move 3: Power Whip / Gyro Ball
move 4: Stealth Rock
ability: Iron Barbs
item: Rocky Helmet
evs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpD
nature: Relaxed
Ferrothorn and Sylveon work together pretty well. Ferrothorn scaring off any physical attackers and Sylveon taking the Special Side. Sylveon is weak to both poison and steel and ferrothorn can easily tank these 2 attacks. Its unique typing makes it a stellar wall, Also having 2 weakness, 1 immunity and numerous resistances. This set is mostly a utility set, pretty basic. Leech seed to get back more Hp and to force switches as leech seed can take a lot of hp if a pokemon stays in. Also Ferrothorn doesnt have reliable recovery so leech seed is a must. Thunder wave just to slow down any fast attackers. Power Whip is its main STAB Move, along side Gyro ball. I opted to choose power whip as it can easily take out those bulky water types (Quagsire, Rotom-w etc) out of the game. Stealth Rock is really important move to have on any team as those pesky flying types (Talonflame Charizard Y Volcarona) take 50% damage each switch in. Which means them less threatening and easier to take out. Feel free to add another hazard setter (spikes) and maybe replace Twave if needed. Its Ability + Rocky Helmet really damages any physical attackers.. dealing probably 40% Damage each time a physical move touches ferrothorn, Such as Azumaril, and Scizor.
Now onto the Offensive Side!
Wallbreaker Charizard
########
name: Mega Charizard-Y
move 1: Fire Blast
move 2: Solar Beam
move 3: Focus Blast
move 4: Roost / Dragon Pulse
ability: Blaze/ Drought
item: Charizardite-Y
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
I feel every team should have at least one mega, because wynaut? And Charizard Y is such a beast and can easily tear apart any walls to clear way for other attackers. With its new Mega evolution, Charizard just becames much stronger. The Set is Pretty Standard. With its Mega ability, Drought, Fire Blast has the potential to OHKO or 2OHKO a lot of things that try to come in. Solar beam is just a nice move to have for the grass coverage and since sun is up already might as well slap this on the set. Focus blast for the fighting coverage and do some damage to some bulky tanks ( Heatran Ttar Chanseys) And for the last move is basically a filler. Roost to increase Longevity and keep sweeping or Dragon pulse for the dragon coverage. Since Charizard has a nasty weakness to stealth rock, Defog/Rapin Spin is a neccessity on this team. So heres the next Partner!
Choice Scarf
########
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Iron Head
move 3: Rock Slide
move 4: Rapid Spin
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly
Excadrill is a nice Touch to the team as the Revenge Killer, Rapid Spinner and Destroyers of Levitate Pokemon. With its nice speed and huge power, it can be a deadly and fast pokemon. The Moveset again, is pretty standard. Earthquake Mold Breaker is a big thing for excadrill. It can do heavy damage to any pokemon besides standard Flying type and any levitate pokemon around.
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 350-414 (115.1 - 136.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Gengar: 560-660 (213.7 - 251.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Latias: 202-238 (66.8 - 78.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
And to counter those Flying types, Rockslide is used. Iron head to do some heavy damage to Fairies and Rapid spin pretty obvious. With its 2nd typing of ground, It has the immunity of Electric, And a nice counter to Thundurus-I, Eating a thunderwave/thunderbolt and answering back with a rockslide. Also Excadrill has the power and speed to take out some of Charizard Y's Counter, such as:
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 708-832 (183.4 - 215.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Choice Scarf is what i prefer on excadrill but there are other items that can be used. Air balloon is pretty common as it can switch on a predicted earthquake and threaten back with its own earthquake. Be careful with choice scarf though, as if you get locked into a wrong move and in a bad situation, your opponent has the oppotunity to setup on you. But with the right predictions, it can still surprise unexpected players.
Choice Band
########
name: Choice Band
move 1: Aqua Jet
move 2: Play Rough
move 3: Superpower
move 4: Waterfall
ability: Huge Power
item: Choice Band
evs: 228 HP / 252 Atk / 28 Spe
nature: Adamant
The Blue Bunny of Death! But seriously, Azumaril is such a big threat in OU right now, because of its Ability: Huge power. Im going to rush the rest of the summary from here since its getting late! But anyways, CB Max Attack Investment Hugepower Azumaril can really OHKO basically anything. Azumaril getting that 2nd fairy typing just makes it alot better, giving another immunity to dragons and having access to the strongest physical fairy move in the game. Also with its Bulk, It can easily tank Ice, Fire, and water moves directed at your other pokemon. Since Azumaril isnt the fastest pokemon, Aqua jet is a must. Having a strong priority to pick off any weakened foes. Waterfall is the 2nd water move to hit harder against some bulky and slower pokemon . An incredibly Strong STAB Play rough can threaten alot of the pokemon in OU, either OHKO or 2OHKO them. Also Lastly Superpower Is the Fighting coverage. It can hit the 2 biggest Spedef Walls in the Tier.. Chansey and Blissey
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 578-680 (80.9 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 420-496 (59.6 - 70.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Huge Power Azumarill Superpower vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Tyranitar: 448-528 (110.8 - 130.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Since the Team lacked a dedicated setup sweeper i decided to go with Dragonite!
Dragon Dance
########
name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Dragon Claw
move 3: Extreme Speed
move 4: Earthquake / Fire Punch
ability: Multiscale
item: Weakness Policy
nature: Adamant
evs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
One of the Better Dragon types in the tier, Dragonite can be a serious threat if not dealt with in the early game. With its Ability, Multiscale, It can Live almost Any SE Move and that will activite Weakness policy, which even boosts dragonites attack to higher levels. Combine that with a Dragondance, Your looking at a 3x Atk and 1.5x Speed Dragonite..Yup get ready to wreck. Dragonite has the bulk to tank any SE Hits with Multiscale and the strength to sweep unprepared pokemon. Since its not a fast pokemon, Dragon dance setup is almost necessary before sweeping. But can be easily done thanks to having a high chance to surviving the first hit on him. Dragon claw is the main STAB Move for Dnite. Extreme speed is one of the hardest hitting priority moves in the game. After 1 Dragon Dance you can outspeed Talonflame and hit first with the Extreme speed, Potentially taking it out on the first out with all that Atk boost. 4th Slot of mostly preference. Earthquake for the Hard hitting ground type or Fire punch for taking any steel types standing in your way while your sweeping. The item choice here is mostly Weakness policy, taking advantage of the multiscale but you can use Lum berry if needed if your scared of the burn
So heres the Team! To be Honest I just made this team on the spot using my experiences in the meta to find good pokemon that work and cover each others back. And since its getting pretty late I kinda just rushed the summary so pardon any mistakes! Hopefully you like it and Good luck to anyone Else entering!
