Wilted cherry tree sapling?

So, I recently planted 8 cherry trees with 2 columns and 2 in each row. They're all one tile from each other and I have another batch of trees just like this to the left of it. But somehow, One of the trees wilted. Can anyone tell me why?

i'm not exactly sure what your setup looked like, but you can't have a tree completely encircled by other trees when you plant them

Well, there goes the symmetry for that area.

There are random dead spots where trees won't grow in every town. It's possible you've stumbled on one of those. There's also a maximum number of trees that can be planted in each acre if I recall correctly - no more than 15 in a 7x7 plot.

Hopefully someone can verify. I'm sorry you're having trouble, I hope you can work around it.
