WiiU Might Not Have Free-To-Play Online

Highly doubtful.

In fact, I'm calling straight out bull on this right now.

EDIT: Just read the article. That's obviously not what it said!

The article is about microtransactions, or charging for DLC. He's saying Nintendo isn't going to nickel-and-dime people for things like alternate outfits for characters and things like that. It's not about charging to play games online.

They've done this before, though. There's been microtransactions and DLC (like Mega Man 9). It's really nothing new for Nintendo. And I had a pretty misleading title. :/ Sorry about that. Any ideas on how I could change it?

Write what the article really says. 'Nintendo not giving away free games'

Mega Man 9 wasn't made by Nintendo.

Nintendo just made it a big deal about the 3DS being glasses free when they could have easily made their own brand of 3D glasses, and in addition not giving the 3DS service because they wouldn't want people to feel they needed to buy that, and now you accuse them of this?
Heresy.

I've read that interview already. That's not what Iwata said. He said that they're not interested in free or "freemium" games, such as what is becoming increasingly common on iOS. It had absolutely nothing to do with paying for online play.
