Lately, anytime I try to go to someone's town or someone tries to come to mine, there's always an error. However, my internet is working at full speed and the 3DS is connected and able to go on the internet. I've tried to fix it by restarting my 3DS and the router, but still no luck.

Any answer behind this or a way to fix it?

Did you update your 3DS and Animal Crossing game?
And what kind of error is it? (i.e: Error code ______, cannot connect to partner's device, etc.)

I've had this problem sometimes, but I usually try again and after 1-5 attempts it works :/

ask god and he will provide your answers. the best way to get his attention is to donate to the church. buy the bibil from a local walmart and read it and repeat his name over and over. your problems will be solved because god loves you and he loves everybody on earth. amen :)

Yes, I've updated both, but still no luck.

I have this same problem too. It's real hard to trade with friends online when my internet connection is lying to me.
Does changing the IP address in your 3DS connection help with this issue?

Try running a connection test in your System Settings.

Ive done that too. It only takes about 3 seconds to test and its says the test was successful, which is why I can't figure out the problem.

Changing the IP address? Sorry, I don't know what that means.

The problem with the 3DS is that it's WiFi software is not always strong enough to make connections through your router/modem, through the internet, and to the other person's town. Suggestions commonly given are to give your 3DS a static IP, then set it to a Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) through your router/modem. It helps the 3DS bypass the bologna that can cause it to not completely connect.

I would definitely call Nintendo's support line though. I had already tried short of everything to connect with somebody to pick up a dreamie (two days, and hours of tinkering). The Support staff will help you establish your static IP (just so your 3DS doesn't compete with computers/phones), set it to DMZ, and also provide you with some other IP addresses to put into your internet settings that are specific to your internet service and location to help it along. It may also require temporarily disabling your firewall while you're online (which what is one of the conditions I have to do with mine), but it's been smooth sailing from then out!

Best 15 minutes I've spent in a while. They're very helpful and polite! Also, if you still have problems, it wouldn't hurt for your friend to call Nintendo as well so they can have a similar set up.

This was for error code 018-0014, which turned into 018-0511 and then back to 018-0014, so if you have one of those, what I wrote above might be your answer.
