Why does anime use so many odd words?
Like, idk.
They use words normal people wouldn't.

It's because of the translation.
The Japanese are a lot more proper than most english speaking people, so when it gets translated, that's what you get.

It's because of the translation.
The Japanese are a lot more proper than most english speaking people, so when it gets translated, that's what you get.

Have you watched a manga in the original Japanese? They're pretty informal. =P The translators nearly always do a horrible job when translating manga (anime) from Japanese. XD

A lot of it is mainly poor translation and laziness in syncing the speech with the characters' lips. You'd think with the horrid job they do translating the dialogue, killing story lines, giving the characters the worst possible voices, etc., they could at least work harder on something. =p
