Why Wont This Pink Hydra Grow?

so im all about pink, and have put pink hydras in my town, recently ive been planting a few more to make borders around my town, ii know the whole rule of you cant have a certain amount of them together so ive carefully counted and planted..or so ii thought!! for the heck of me, ii cant figure out whyyyyyy this certain hydra doesnt want to grow in this spot where as the other spots have alot more hyrdas around..

can anyone tell me why this hydra doesnt want to grow here.. the 1st time it didnt grow, ii thought ot was bc ii didnt water it.. so ii did another, made sure to water it, and it still WONT. GROW.. idk why

Bushes are a pain in the rear to explain, and such a small photo makes it difficult to pinpoint the issue... but please watch this guide by DazzaBound as he explains bushes very well and even has steps to pinpoint any issue you may possibly be having:

Hmm, this might be a weird question but did you plant all of the bushes after you placed the paths down, or before? Also, did you plant that bush at the same time you planted the rest and it just turned dead, or were the other ones already grown and you just added it in the corner?

Also, since you weren’t able to show us another picture of the bushes? Do you have over 15 bushes in a 7x7 area? That might be why, as the limit is 15 bushes in a 7x7 area, but you can place more around it. Other than that, you may have hit a dead zone. That means you won’t ever be able to plant one there, sadly.

theres a couple more bushes further down the path.. theres some to the right of my mayor in the image of where ii circled.. how do ii know how did of an area? like whats considered the starting point and ending.. like is it to my townhall down to the police station to the rv grounds?

ii had them already planted long before, im just now adding on..

the path was put down before ii planted any of the bushes bc ii remember it used to be all pink flowers before ii picked them and moved them..

Since it seems like there’s almost nothing wrong with that area, as the 7x7 space for bushes is fine as you don’t even have 15 bushes in that amount of space, I’d say it’s a dead zone. A dead zone just means you really can’t plant it there, which is unfortunate. Many people have had this problem while making a row of bushes, while one dies. It’s very weird and not sure why the AC creators made it that way, but you won’t be able to place the bush there because there’s no other logical explanation why it wouldn’t be growing. You have the needed space, you haven’t maxed out the bushes, you haven’t built it too close to anything, so the only thing left is it’s a dead space. Sorry to say.

I definitely suggest you check out the video that Khaelis posted. It has a lot of good tips. Sometimes it's just the placement order that makes all the difference. You might have to dig up some of your other bushes and replant them starting from that corner, but there's probably a way to make it work. I've done that a few times...just tried planting my trees/bushes in a different order until they all grew. But that was before somebody posted the video above. If you watch that, you may be able to fix it with less trial and error.

well that just totally sucks! ii agree, ii have space, ii didnt know about the 'area' thing though, so maybe ill count and try to learn how to measure the area and what that consists of ty for helping

thats exactly what ii was thinking of doing!! just replanting and moving my path, changing the direction abit to where ii could use lesser bushes right there in that part.. tjats the only spot giving me a hard time, literally 2 spaces down ii have like 6 bushes so ii have no idea whats going on, ill def. keep watching the video to learn.. ty for helping as well

I upload my in-game screenshots directly to Twitter through the 3DS to avoid having to remove the SD card. It's been a while since I've done it but I believe I followed this guide.

I'm not a fan of social media either but I made an account purely to link to my 3DS and PS4 to make uploading game screenshots easier. I have it set to private so no one else can access it unless I link the images somewhere.

I was under the impression that "dead spots" are a myth. There always seems the be an underlying issue that is not immediately apparent, but as far as I've heard there is no such thing as a dead spot. As suggested above, I'd try rearranging or planting in a different order to see if anything else works. Personally I've never tried doing bushes in that tight of a u shape, so not totally sure if that could be an issue.
