I've been doing the diving/wetsuit trick for a while now, and it's been working great - I usually trap a specific villager by digging holes around them and keep coming up to them so that they'll ping me, and eventually they'll give me the PWP I want.

This has worked with every villager and every personality type so far, except Mira. I do the same thing, trap her with holes and make sure she's the first person I see when I come back up, but she alone will not ping me at all, or at least very infrequently. If I walk around in front of someone else, they will ping me instead, even though Mira was the first villager I saw.

Is this just bad luck, or is there something I can do about it?

Edit:
Also, another problem I've been having is with the megaphone - I can't seem to get Mira to respond to it. I've tried enunciating as much as possible and trying different pronunciations even though I'm pretty sure it's "MEE-ra" (I also tried "MY-ra", "Mer-ra"), but every time I call for her, Merengue responds instead.

She also tends to stay in her house a lot more than the other villagers, day or night, and it's so difficult to catch her out of her house.

Thanks for reading, any help on these issues would be much appreciated!

Hmm... it could be that you're not close enough friends with Mira, what level of friendship do you think you're at with her? (I know villagers suggest PWPs even if you're not close friends, but maybe the amount of PWPs they suggest depends on friendship.)

Hm, we should be pretty close - every time I come out of the water I talk to her anyway, even if she doesn't ping me. I had Camofrog trapped for a bunch of zen stuff once, and he gave me the zen bell and zen garden even though I don't talk to him much.

After playing for a long time you sometimes need to talk to a villager for them to say you should stop playing for a while because you might be tired. The next villager you'll see will than ping you.

It's not that either, even if I just start up the game and idle in the water for a few minutes, she won't ping me, but anyone else will even if they're the second to see me.

I usually pronounce Mira's name as in (MEER-ah)
I'm really not sure why she stays in her house so much. I went on AC at 12am and I found Deirdre to be out. I'm guessing she's a very night-owl sort of character.

I don't know if it's a thing or not, but I've noticed that some villagers want to talk less often. For example, in my town it's mostly Derwin, Mallary (before she moved out), Bam, Chevre and Twiggy. It could be to do with friendship level, as three of those are from my originals. Could also be personality, none of my Cranky villagers want to talk very often (I have three, yet they're still the least common ones).
