no i bought it new and ive checked my town tree to see if she moved in while i wasnt playing for a while or something but nope

Only villagers that are still living in town are mentioned there. I've had several move-outs, and the tree doesn't mention the date those characters moved in, only my current residents.

Yeah, she definitely was there. You just didnt meet her because, as you said, she wished she never left your town and if you never met her when she was still living there, she would say something like that.
