It's a bad design
Or what you think?

(I have to do it for my bf he need lolly by force again)

Edit*
Guys I have finally did it I moved 16 animals
But now the hard part :(
Move lolly out of my town to move it to my bf town

Wouldn't say bad design, I guess it's so people aren't having the same villager pop up again and again.
At the moment I don't mind it as I haven't lost any villager I wanted to keep....I may change my mind if I do ;-)

Well your lucky he lost her for not playing on his own >_>
Now he gave me his game until I find his 2 missing cats but I'm more focused on lolly for now because the other one I could go and find it again now

Ironically, I'm also trying to cycle to get Lolly back in my town. But I let her leave...I was upset because she didn't so much as bother to send me a birthday letter and she pinged to move right after that, so I let her.

I also have NO idea how many villagers I have to go through to get her back. But at least I have "my" Lolly saved in another town, so she'll be ready whenever I'm able to move her back in.

I agree that sixteen is kind of an odd number to cycle through, maybe something like 12-14 would've been a little better.

I guess it makes it worth it in the end though, because you'll be less likely to let them go considering you cycled out 16 for them.

You're almost there! I've never gone through it, but it's nice that you can get your villagers back at some point. It would be awful if you never got a second chance.

your right but after the 16 the 17 must be a smug
So 18 can be lolly
Because 17 will leave after he give me the pwp
and will be replaced with 19 which is Olivia
his other missing cat that left before lolly so I can pick her up
But IL leave her last because I don't have her in my town so yeah :p also smug before lolly so like that lolly won't ask to leave
But the smug yes

Then I wish you luck on doing it without thinking in what number you are

And I agreed 12 will have been a better number

It's this much to have variety, so that a villager that just moved out doesn't show up within a few months again. You're not supposed to get them back again soon, they moved out/you let them move out for a reason and imagine if it was none - that annoying villager you hated would move into your town again through someone's void, after you just got rid of it.

16 is a really annoying number. I can understand having some cycling requirement since it would be really weird to have a villager move out and then have the same one move back in right after, but 16 is overkill. The odds of getting the same villager back via random move-in, void, or streetpass are so small that it's not worth having the cycling requirement be so large. 3 to 5 villagers would be a reasonable cycling requirement in my opinion.

Actually I just move out villagers I no longer have room for and move in new ones. My tastes change a lot. Before I know it I already cycled out 16. I got Marshal for the 2nd time tonight haha

I guess for variety. Though, all my brain can muster up right now is Sixteen Candles by The Crests.

A little bit off topic, but it's something I found a bit interesting. I had Zucker in my town originally. He moved out unexpectedly and I stored him in my boyfriend's town until I went through the 16 village cycle. I got him back, but then from another TTing accident I lost him YET again. I had to have him stored in a different town until I completed the cycle. Now he's back in my town again.

He went from my boyfriends town, to my town, to another town, and back to my town again, and yet he still remembered my boyfriend's character even after going through all of those towns! I wonder how many towns a villager can go through, and still remember a person from a town they used to live in.... He even said something along the lines of... "You guys have bread eating contests now!? You didn't have that when I lived there!!!"

I guess it's to keep lazy people like me at bay

I still haven't cycled through 16 villagers since losing my beloved Maple over a year+ ago </3

Guys
I have done it
It was painful but I'm glad I did it now
Now I can sort off rest from all that cycling
