Seriously.
We only need like 3, one for hitting, one for smashing and one for....bugs...maybe we only need two
I'm trying to find a good map with a big open area to cycle (like a suburb), but all the big areas have rocks scattered around!
I found the perfect map with a huge area for houses and there are like 4 rocks parked in the way!
The hunt continues.
"Why do we even HAVE the lever?!

Nintendo wants to frustrate the player.

Well done, Nintendo!

Mission accomplished.

My town is ok for that... Wouldn't it be nice if town layouts had qr codes so you could scan? Then again that would make it where towns wouldn't be unique

I thought I was ok with where my rocks are placed... but I was wrong. They wear on you. Places where you want to build PWP? Can't. Why? Rocks!

What I don't get is why we can't remove them at all. If we can demolish giant stone sculptures and pyramids why not these stupid things? Plus every other natural thing in town is possible to remove so I really don't get why rocks are the lone exception.

Yes!
Make dynamite an item. ^_^

Minecraft in AC?

I have 2 rocks that aren't far from each other which come into contact with my path and I can't do anything about.

I would pay millions of bells to demolish rocks.

I don't care if they're 'natural' they can't have anything near them except flowers!

Rocks should be removable and also an item that you can 'build' or simply place in your town in the next game (if one is even coming because I don't know anymore at this point). In real life you can just lift rocks and toss them in a river if you wanted to so why is that not a thing in Animal Crossing?

I've never been able to chose a layout and take account of the rocks, partly as I can't visualise where I'll want my paths etc. In every town I have, they cause problems.
One town has 9, & oh dear, all of them seem to be in the way.
I don't know what the permanent rock max is, possibly 10?
The min I think is 4 (one for each possible character) plus the breakable one.
In one town I've incorporated the rocks into the paths, which does not look that good - 2 tiled paths with a gap. Rocks that are by the side of the path, well I have to erase the patterns daily.
I still want to hit them, for the possibility of gold ore, but yes a real pain. Wish we could get rid of at least some of them.

that wouldn't be a very child friendly game though...

also I have two rocks vertical to each other 5 spaces between. Not fun

It's not child friendly now. O_o

If you want to talk about thing's that aren't child friendly, aside from my dynamite joke, here's a few other thing's!

How kids can catch spider crabs with their little fingers, when I used all my strength and nearly dislocated a finger.

The Giant Beetle comes out at 11.00 PM.
Kids are asleep long before then.

On your birthday, the cranky villagers yell "Happy STINKIN' Birthday!"

I could go on, but I don't have a week to spare. ^_^

I can't remember how many I got, but the rocks are in acceptable places, though they are always annoying either way. I too wanna know why we can't get rid of them.
I fear what my new towns will be like when I search for a layout. Hopefully the rocks aren't clashing or in the way.

I have nine rocks, and have made good use of them, especially my two that sound as close as yours.

My lovely (imo, oc) double hot springs with two rock seats to watch and listen to the waterfall and the springs.

I love rocks irl, too, and since I live right next to the Colorado Rocky Mountains, I can't move most of them, either, lol.

BTW, Jon, kids can learn how to TT and then they will be able to catch the Giant Beetle whenever they want to, right?

I keep editing...My 8 year old grandson probably thinks it's hilarious when the cranky villagers say that on his birthday!

My rocks actually aren't in terrible locations this time. I'm convinced that the rocks in my old town were actually angry geodude from the time I killed a bunch of them while shiny hunting. Perfect location for The Roost NO THERE'S A ROCK!!!
