Why do people not like visitors talking to their villagers?

Maybe it can be grating after a while. Personally I don't mind when my friends chat with my villagers when they come and visit.

A lot of ACNL players don't like their villagers repeatedly telling them stuff like:"I just met Buelah from Doorknob and she seemed like a real bell pincher."Personally, that doesn't bother me but I can understand why it might bother others.

Personally, I don't mind either. I think a reason might be due to villagers moving. Like, you don't want someone talking to a villager that's in boxes if that villager has been promised to another person already. Other than that, maybe it's just a personal preference.

I hate it.

The villager will talk about that person forever.

During a visit, I had to turn my game off without saving because the person ran around and talked to EVERYONE while I was AFK.

I had specifically asked them not to. :-/

In my first town I help a bunch of people once and never saw them again, still heard about them daily regardless of how long ago it was. Also something about move outs.

I'm still seeing a villager I 'picked up' by accident from someone's void, that destroyed a large part of my town, and I booted him out, yet there he is on Main Street.

Before I booted him out, all he did was play his old town tune.

Who wants to hear about other mayors and their towns. Especially if it's someone who has offended you.

Not much fun hearing about them, day in, day out.

Some people just don?t like their villagers mentioning other mayors... though i trade a lot , and I get a lot of visitors in my town...and even though I know for a fact that they have not spoken to my villagers...I still get them speaking about mayors anyways. So I don?t really tell people not to speak to them ( they never have though...since I mostly just kick the person after trading by closing the gates ).

So I feel like its pointless to ask someone not to speak with them since I know they still speak of them even when the mayors don?t speak to them..if that makes sense.

My villagers don't.
Only the one I booted that I got from someone's void.

I don't understand, and I don't mind if people from other towns interact with my villagers

I personally don't mind it because my villagers hardly ever talk about anyone, even though I've only invited people open a few times. Most they do is mention people from dreams but that's about it.

I don't mind it at all, my villagers rarely talk about it anyway.
Besides, if you have a dream address the villager's will talk about who came there.

In Vista, I adopted both Snake (from a cycle town on Tumblr) and Bonbon (unoriginal, from someone town on Tumblr) from someone else's town and they rarely bring up where they came from.

Doc and Caroline came from an old cycle town I used to have, they rarely bring it up.
Same for any of my other villagers who I adopted in my other towns.

Guess some players don't like it when their villagers talk about other people. I don't have
a problem at all when someone talk with my villagers and they talking with me afterwards
about it.

I've seen in a lot of rules when coming to one's town for a trade they don't want people talking to their villagers. Maybe another reason is that they just want the trade to be over quickly and don't want anything to hold them up, defaintly when they are busy and got alot more trades to deal with.
I personally don't mind them talking to villagers as long as thats all, they aren't bothering my flowers or running, and if they tell me they are going to speak to my villagers, fair enough, as long as they deal with the trade at hand I do not mind.

It's not to get the trade over with, it's so your villagers don't start babbling on about random mayors for eternity. :(

I think it causes villagers to start talking about the mayor, asking if they are coming back. I'm okay with this when I'm showing off, but I keep trades to the train station at other times.

I don't care unless it distracts the person from our trade or our time playing with each other. One girl I played with only talked to Hopper because he was one of her favorites, but another girl I played with talked to every single villager in my town while I was trying to give her items. She didn't even ask.

So rude.

I agree. I don't really get bothered by my villagers bringing up other mayors. It's not like they make 'requests' for that mayor to come back; they just reminisce about them. My wife's mayor is the only one they talk about because she visits me the most and talks to all my villagers.. and vice versa. And she can come back to talk to them whenever.

I had Fuschia in my old town, she moved out, the somehow moved into my wife's village. I have since deleted my old town... and she still talks about me! She even sang her old town tune to my wife's mayor. I guess this is kind of sad because she talks about my old mayor but her town no longer exists. Still, if people want to talk to my villagers... just ask!

I don't mind it which is actually a good thing as I have a couple of towns and my villagers from each town keep mentioning my mayor of my other town :p

It doesn't bother me, though I've only had one other person talk to my animals thus far. Them talking about other mayors at least is better than them trying to give me tutorials about things I've known how to do for literal years:p

Lol, or about Unidentified Oranges. Ugh. If I get pinged one more time about this after the diving trick...
