I'm pretty sure that you can't plant them, 'cause they'll just grow into normal fruits? & I know some people buy them to sell at re-tail, but then considering they cost only 100 bells surely it wouldn't be worth it? I've seen some people ask to buy 2-5 perfect fruits and I'm just curious as to why because you can't really do much with them. :] Thanks for the help!
i give them to villagers when they ask for fruit bc it ups the friendship levels.
like if daisy asks me for a peach (my native fruit is apples) and i give her a perfect peach, her friendship rating with me goes up higher than if i just gave her a regular peach. that's why i keep like a bushel of each type of perfect fruit in my storage at all times.
They might also buy them to give to their villagers upon request, they can ask you for any perfect fruits, not only your native, and if they ask you for normal fruits, giving them perfect ones will boost your friendship with them and get you better rewards or even their pic if you are maxed.
Usually they buy them because when villagers ask for fruit, if you give them a perfect fruit it'll make your friendship level higher with that villager because you went the extra mile to get them a perfect fruit instead of just a normal one like they asked for.
You buy them to sell at retail because although native fruit sells ok, and non-native fruit sells well, perfect fruit sells really really well, and non-native fruit sells amazingly well. You fill up your pockets with nonnative perfect fruit, you can get about 350,000. It's a very good idea to buy it cheap and make a profit by selling in retail.
to add, it also is good to save and wait until retail has a special on it.......My town is native peaches, and my friends is pears. Right now, because pears are on special, a group of 9 perfect pears sells for 54,000 bells, which is not that shabby.
I buy all five perfect baskets for villagers when the fruit task/request comes around! It would also look very nice in your home as a decoration ornament or for eating or gifts for a friend y'know cx
