Why did you choose each of your villagers?

This could be a nice idea for a topic. I'll get us started...

Hopper - My best friend from my very first time I ever played animal crossing. His design is amazing! He's a cranky, which I like. Plus he is both cool and cute! Plus I started with him, and almost lost it when I saw him, along with Ankha and Rory at the train station to meet me when I first moved in! Hopper was the first one to even speak, as he was on the far left

Hans - They big strong Yeti! When I loaded up the game on day 2 I notice a vacant plot FAR away from everyone else in town.....I checked it out, and it said that it belonged to a guy named 'Hans'...Wasn't to excited, as at the time I was hoping for an old favorite to move in (I'll talk about that one later). The day after, I went to see my new villager, and to my surprise, when I was expecting some kind of boring Hamster, I got an awesome Yeti!!!

Ankha - Daughter of Ra and Isis! Forced to live in the AC world in the form of a cat! She was a starting villager, and the one to whom I built my house next to! She is amazing! I have a HUGE love for cats and Mythology, so it was like this villager was custom made for me!

Rory - A LION! My third starter and one of the 3 I still have and will keep! I love lions, and his mane is Red! My favorite color! He met me at the train station along with Hopper and Ankha, and am so glad I got him in my town!

Mira - .......As I said before......I am a HUGE Sailor Moon fanboy! I mean seriously. She is a bunny version of Sailor Venus!!! How can I not love this one! This one is cute, cool, and based on my 5th favorite of the Sailor Senshi! So yeah, I say she is the perfect villager to wrap up my town's line up, as she is the newest member!

Ribbot - While I was deciding on who to bring in from the campsite next, I came across this little fella. I thought he looked like a fun villager, so I decided to let him come in. Sure enough, he is a lot of fun! Plus his name is such a cool pun!

Rolf - I decided from the start that my very first camper would be moving in. And luckily I got a VERY good one. Rolf the white tiger has been an AMAZING member of my town. I love him so much!

Pinky - A cute Panda......what else can I say? I love Pandas!!!!

Marina - This.......is the old favorite I was mentioned when I talked about Hans. I love her sooooo much! She was also the 3rd villager to move in! In fact interesting story about when I got her in this game; I was swimming at the island and got something from diving. It was an Octopus. I decided to let it go....and the VERY NEXT DAY....the plot for Marina's house appeared......

Now I should probably address the 'elephant in the room', and talk about my consideration of having Marina move away a while back.....I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!!

Skye - IMO the BEST wolf in the game. After moving out Harry, a friend of mine suggested I gave Skye a chance. I love her sooooo much! Interesting fact. I had planned to do the campsite reset trick to get her....but I got her on the FIRST TRY!!!

However...after AFD tomorrow. I might consider switching Pinky for Chester!

I only chose Lucky. Simply because he's absolutely adorable and he was one of my favourites in Wild World.

i love my villager choices so muchh !!!!!!!!!!! apart from kyle, chevre, elvis + frobert (although i'm attached) i guess i chose my villagers because some look like cartoons and ones like tangy, daisy, jeremiah i got influence over in previous games (( i couldn't let them go in new leaf no no )) !! i love quirky faces and angry faces !! i love dora's face so much and kabuki + grizzly's cartoony angry faces. ribbot makes me laugh so much, i want more villagers who make me laugh !! i just wanna squeeze jeremiah and daisy and hug them under each of my arms ! i really would like some more influence over "dreamies" though, i always look through the villagers list and find new ones

Moe - I fell in love with the fanart I saw of him.. One of the only cats I like in AC. I also was really confused about the last 2 spots in my town and still am abot Moe's spot.. Considering letting him go. He's nice and all but he lacks anything to make him stand out to me.

Bree - Literally like the only snooty I adore. Also the only mouse I adore.. It's just her design... She looks incredibly cute but unlike the other snooties doesn't look over the top femanized / womanly.. I don't know. She just is a favorite

Ken - One of my original 4 dreamies <33 He is amazing, I love the way he looks.. I love his name chicKEN And I love the fact he's a goddamn ninja. Come on nothing gets better than a dark ninja chicken that's full of himself with a punny name.

Frita - I totally glanced over her when choosing an uchi. She is incredibly unique and her design fits the big sis personality. Too bad I'm not a big fan of the other uchis, otherwise I'd love to have a second one. It's nice to see Frita by the cafe & park every morning. I had just gotten rid of Timbra, one of my originals when I started hunting for her, really missed having a sheep x3 I love how sheep have scarves.

Alfonso - The only starter I've kept. He's pretty darn swag. I mean he is a living reference to Mario and has a toilet & a train set in the same room *probably has replaced both by now though* He's got a simple design but I absolutely love him. Maybe my favorite color being orange helps a bit ;3

Annalisa - Ahh I love anteaters. Normals tend to be extremely.. normal looking so somebody as unique as her stands out :3 She's an absolute sweetie and I love her to bits. Too bad she lives in the corner of the town alongside Jacques, so I usually miss her... Not as much as poor Jacques though :'c

Genji - One of my original 4 dreamies again <3 He's the best bunny & jock out there. His theme fits in with Annalisa's. I absolutely adore his design and even built a little bamboo garden next to his house cuz he's mah panda.

Tabby - Favorite villager of all time. She just looks amazing and her personality fits. The only cat I really adore & she stands out. I absolutely love her mug. She's one of the villager who made me want to get into animal crossing. I shall always wear a lame shirt of her I've made. xD

Jacques - He looks like your average hipster and admit it... Hipsters are attractive okay? Either way I don't see him enough :C His house is in such a ****ty spot that I never encounter him. Also his house is pretty darn empty j-j One of the more original villagers in life and one of the only smugs that I can take. *There's like 3*

Rolf - After trying out multiple crankies I found just the one. Who again I had totally overlooked.. Wtf is wrong with me? Too bad I got him in really unoriginal condition so his house is a hell spawn. It's literally an abomination of a mess and it's unfixable... But then again his original house is a mess aswell. Also he and Tabby go together like magnets... Even without my idiotic pairing they're besties ingame... He even admitted it ;u; They got similar sexy stripes so they meant for each other yo.

Awwwww, thinking about this sure brings me back to when I first started playing the game:

Bones - One of my very first villagers in the town ever (I cant remember if he was there on the first day or if he moved in like a day later or two, but its basicaly the same.). I had just reset my first town in which I had Portia, so seeing another white dog made me like him almost instantly. He has been the only villager Ive liked lucky enough to survive all my TTing accidents and hiatuses, I love him so much!

Baabara - Probably not one of my very first villagers, but she randomly moved in on the first weeks on a really nice spot and I really liked her.

Muffy - First Campsite villager who ever moved in from another town, back then I didnt even know what most Uchis looked like, turns out she is probably one of the few (If not the only) Uchis I truly like! She moved in perfectly next to Baabara (Who I wasnt too sure if Id keep for too long) so now they are two of my fav villagers.

Pierce - A random villager who just showed up in my campsite one day, I had just let Bam leave my town (I loved him, but his house was just too inconveniently placed) so I was glad to get another nice looking Jock in my town. He has to be one of the few Jocks I truly like! (Thankfuly I had already learned about plot reseting so it didnt take too long for him to move into a nice place )

Ruby - She was such an amazing strike of luck! One day, when I had only 8 villagers and I knew someone new would move in, I jut started plot reseting until a random villager moved to a place that looked nice (Back then I was actualy looking for a couple Peppy Villagers, including her) and she just randomly moved in right where I planned to build a nice rose garden, and somehow she just ended up fiting my plan perfectly! I was even looking for peppy villagers back then (And she was in the highest priorities) so I was extremely happy. (I used to have Pippy, another Peppy Rabbit, in my old town, so Ruby brings back really nice memories to me).

Fang - Probably the only villager Ive ever traded for who is now in my town. I used to have Whitney, but I lost her to a TTing accident (She still haunts me in the shopping district even now ;_; ) so I really wanted to get another Wolf to fix my broken heart, so I offered Fauna for either Skye or Fang, and I got Fang.


Ive also had Rowan, Marshal, Bruce and Punchy in my town as villagers I wanted to keep (All fof them either initial villagers or found in camping site while resetting for villagers, I didnt really know how popular some of them where back then, but I can totaly see why they are.) but they have all been lost to TTing accidents or hiatuses or town resetting, which takes me to...

Villagers I dont have but want:

Blaire - I miss Marshal, but I dont have the energy to cycle trough enough villagers and then pay an insulting ammount of bells for him, but I really want to have another Squirrel in my town, so I went for the second cutest squirrel there is.

Rolf - I miss Rowan, but I dont really like Jock villagers enough to get him again, plus I love white tigers and have a soft spot for big but cute looking Cranky villagers.

Lolly - I miss Punchy, but I literaly just lost him and I dont have the energy to cycle torugh 16 villagers, also I dont really have a normal Villager in my town yet (Merengue is moving out, Im actualy trading her for Lolly!) so I went for the cutest cat villager there is.

Zell - I used to have him and Bruce in my old town, and I really want to have at least one deer in my town, so I looked for them both, and I recently found someone who let me reserve Zell from their cylcing town, so he will be mine soon!

Actually I think Jacques looks more like a lumberjack than a hipster.

Bunnie: Old favorite from CF. She moved away from my CF town twice, and now I'm never letting her go again!

Stitches: Someone offered him for Doc back at launch, and he grew on me

Lolly: I fell in love with her design and she's a starter. Never had her in a previous game.

Roald: I love penguins, and he's the coolest imo.

Elvis: I had him in previous games and by pure luck he showed up in my campsite!

Pecan: Old favorite that I never got to spend enough time with in previous games

Tipper: I really like her design; in fact, she's the only cow I like, and I decided to try her out. So far she's a good fit

Papi: I thought he was pretty damn adorable, and it took me forever to find him. No way I'm letting him go now

Henry: Random move-in (Maybe 3rd?) who's design I fell in love with.

Needless to say I've had a lot of great experiences with all my villagers, which is why most people like the villagers they like. For example, even though Freya looks pretty cool, I haven't had a good experience with her in the past so now I kinda sorta loathe her

Looks, mainly, but while planning out the villagers I was going to have I also followed a few rules, such as only 1 animal per species, must have all personalities (which means only 1 each, except for one personality for each gender that could have 2) and, as a consequence, I had to have 5 girls and 5 boys.... and a couple must-haves (1 horse, 1 MALE deer, 1 lion, and at least 1 bird of some kind)

So... villagers I have and want to keep:

Beau: Found him while campsite resetting... I told myself I was going to settle with whichever male deer came first, and surprisingly I got the cutest of them all ^u^

Julian: His house's construction site appeared while I was resetting for a smug villager... I was actually aiming for Ken because I already have a horse, plus he decided to camp his royal blue rump waaayyyyy too close to the town hall for my liking but....
Yeah, there was simply NO WAY I was gonna pass on a free Julian. I mean, he's friggin' Julian! Sorry Papi, this means you've got to go...

Boone: Another great surprise camper. I was planning to get a lion for my jock slot but Boone's always been one of my favs, so I said the hell with it, and invited him to stay. We instantly bonded. I love him so so much, by far my favorite monkey and the second villager I cherish the most after Julian <333

Coco: I'd never seen her or known about her existence before I met her at the campsite... I had mixed feelings about her. I couldn't decide whether I was creeped out or intrigued. In the end I decided I was more intrigued than scared, so I got her to stay and I didn't regret it. She's spookily adorable :3

Agent S: The only one from my starting 5 I still have. And for a very good reason. I love everything about her. An irriverent action-oriented little squirrel girl. Need I say more? Those who have her know what I'm talking about <3

Muffy: I was honestly getting a little depressed while looking at uchi villagers lists online, because I just couldn't seem to find anyone I liked. Though I knew I kinda wanted another sheep villager after Baabara moved out so I googled Muffy and.... well, after finding out she's a goth black sheep I... I just...... I HAD to have her. She wasn't hard to get, because I had no uchi villagers at the time so she showed up after only a couple resets. I'm very fond of her, plus I think she makes a good contrast with most of my other villagers. I want my ensemble to be as varied as possible

Villagers I want but don't have (yet):

Purrl: Cutest cat in the game, 'nuff said. I was initially going to reserve the snooty slot for a bird but since I decided I'm gonna get Knox, I no longer have that priority.

Knox:Funny and cool at the same time. Also I love birds. And he's a knight. Yeah. I want one of those.

Tia/Opal/Eloise/?: the female "extra" slot is still a big question mark. I'd like to have an elephant (mostly because of their awesome drum speech jingle XD), but there are a few others I don't think I'd be able to pass on if I came across them... like Gayle for example....

Elvis/Lionel/Mott/Bud: Technically I already have Elvis, but I may have to send him away to clear the cranky slot in order to get Knox more quickly... if said rooster decides to show up before Elvis is gone I'd gladly keep 'em both, but I wouldn't mind giving up Elvis for another lion in case I'll have to reset for Knox.

Villagers I'm trying to get rid of:

Melba: She was among the first to move into my town shoortly after I got the game... dayum she's stubburn. I've been ignoring her with all my might for weeks now but she's still here >_<

Papi: I don't hate him (actually he's kinda cute), and for a while I actually considered him one of my final 10, but then Julian came along... I ain't having 2 animals of the same species in my village, and since on my watch Julian's not going anywhere.....yeah.

Every single one of my villagers has a door with a window. This saves me time when I pass their homes - I can easily see if they're home or not, just looking at the window. Otherwise, I would need to press UP to see their smoke - that time can add up and I'm astronomically lazy. That is the one of the main reasons I have the villagers that I have.

Lily - Starting villager that I just fell in love with. She's too cute.

Del - Another starting villager. I typically do like the Cranky personality the most, so combined with his fat tummy, I just had to keep him.

Teddy - I see him as the Brock of ACNL.

Shep - When I was looking at Smugs, I instantly saw Shep and knew he was my guy.

Tangy - I think her personality type matches her appearance well - bright, fresh, and peppy.

Whitney - When I think of Snobs, I think of airheaded, self-centered villagers. However, with Whitney's appearance, I feel like she's more classy and fierce, less valley-girl like.

Merengue - She moved in pretty early on, so I decided to keep her because she's super cute.

Deirdre - I think she's a super cute Uchi. I'm liking her less because I can never find her, much like my previous Uchi, Sylvia.

Biskit - Between the Lazies, it was him or Lucky. Being a fan of windows, I thought his window was much cuter than Lucky's.

Some of these villagers I won't keep forever however i still love having them around!

I chose ROSCOE to stay in Zanarkan because I love black horses and I love his personality and he makes me laugh the most. I know all cranky villagers are the same but those red eyes get me <3 he was the only male to give me a valentine and he was on my birthday party ... we're just the best of buddies man.

DEENA was one of my original fives and the first birthday I was invited to. We have many memories and pics together ... I know she'll move away soon but I kept her for all this time because she gave me such a friendly impression and ducks are cute and she's so short too. She reminds me of a teacher.

FROBERT :B is a cutie. He has "muscles" apparently and he's always asking to hang out. I got him because I didn't have any jocks and I'm so glad it was him I love frogs!

TAMMY hello? She's cute as heck! and I have two pics of her already and she always suggests me PWPs. Her house spot was put exactly where Phoebe lived which I found kind of curious since they're both Uchis. I don't know she's just so cute but I promised my bf to give her to him but I'll still visit her <3

FAUNA was never supposed to stay in Zanarkan but I held her for Acupoftea but she eventually found a new one because I was having trouble TTing her out. On the process I lost Olivia. Tbh I'm kinda bitter because, b/c of her I lost Olivia but she's warming up to me and she's so cute? She reminds me of that Disney movie lol And her house surrounded by pink/orange tulips looks gorgeous! She's a cutie.

TANGY because I love her design. My bf lost her because he always takes breaks playing and gladly I was the one that got her. I was kind of glad that happened because I felt like my bf never appreciated her haha. I love cats (also c'mon Tangy I always spoil you where my pic at).

MARCIE was my first ever dreamie. I'm so glad I got her. I love kangaroos and she's like the only cute kangaroo lol (sorry ppl) and I love that she's a mother. Ill like to be a mom someday and I'm kind of motherly. She's my neighbor too so I always see her pretty face and LIL Marcie's pretty face. Her house is so pretty too. Looks so suburban? I don't know anyway Marcie's the cutest.

DIZZY I got him from the campsite. I actually wanted Opal because all of the elephants are attractive but tell me not, Dizzy looks like a baby right? His face fits his personality. And his letters crack me up. Lazy is my favorite personality. I'll give him away eventually for someone that wants him and because I miss Lucky but ill always appreciate him and his bad spot next to the fountain LOL (Y u no give me your pic?)

PEKOE okay so maybe she was my first dreamie? She's in an album cover I think KK country? I'm not sure. I got that song just because of her face. And I put it on the wall because it fit the pinkness of my room (and because of her cute face) However I always thought about having her in my town. And here she is (Also I'm never letting her go I'm her #1 fan lol).

SHEP my newest move in! I'm cycling to get Olivia and Lucky back and I thought why not? He's ADORABLE! You can't see his face! Besides I haven't gotten a smug or a dog in months. I know well be good friends for a while! He's so cute (thank you Pipsqueak).

Drago - He's a dragon, my favorite magical creature in existence and one of the most hilarious personalities in the game. I don't understand why he's not in top tier. Some of the other villagers in top tier don't deserve to be there. (Marshal). He is my favorite villager, although I'm called Takoya.

Julian - He's a unicorn, my childhood favorite. He's also a magical creature like Drago.

Phoebe - She's a Phoenix...How couldn't you like her?

Zucker - His house is very cool and he looks just like a Japanese snack. I find food delicious and having one food villager for my Japanese town is something I wanted.

Blanche - I like the ostrich characters like someone loves the wolves. She's my favorite snooty there is. She's like my Marshal. White cheek sand white coloring.

Pekoe - The fact that she is Japanese-themed and has her ears like little buns is cute.

Kabuki - The Japanese definition of Kabuki made me love this guy. He looks pretty cool too and he's my favorite cranky.

Genji - Otaku

Kyle - He reminds me of some guy in a rock band. If he were a real person, he'd be my type.

Bianca - White tiger. That's just it. A white tiger. I like white tigers.

Melba: She was among the first to move into my town shoortly after I got the game... dayum she's stubburn. I've been ignoring her with all my might for weeks now but she's still here >_<

Papi: I don't hate him (actually he's kinda cute), and for a while I actually considered him one of my final 10, but then Julian came along... I ain't having 2 animals of the same species in my village, and since on my watch Julian's not going anywhere.....yeah.

Well can I have Papi? IMO he's the cutest horse.

When picking my villagers I decided I would only have one of each personality type, besides two personality types, one extra boy and one extra girl, making the total 5 boys and 5 girls.

Lazy Villager Pick: Bob- He reminds me of when I was little I used to want a purple cat. Also, it's cool that his birthday is on New Years and the kiddie furniture in his house suits him well. I bought him on this forum.

2nd Pick: Zucker- I knew I wanted an octopus, because they're awesome. I checked the list and Zucker really stood out to me. His design (being a takoyaki) and the furniture in his house really relate to the theme of lazy villagers loving food. I adopted him from a very generous TBT user.

Jock Villager Pick: Snake- He's a ninja. 'Nuff said. (I wonder if he is one of the HHA agents who sneaks into homes and stealthily grades them). Still looking for him...

Smug Villager Pick: Pietro- The opinions of him, at least that I've seen, are very mixed. Some don't care for him/are freaked out by clowns, while others (including me) think that he has a clever design and is very colorful. Plus, I love sheep, so I wanted at least two in my town. My friend currently has him in his town, and is going to cycle him out to me.

Cranky Villager Pick: Elvis- TBH, I was torn on if I wanted him or Static. I couldn't have both, as I wanted my two lazies more. I had Elvis, loved his regal house, and whenever I sent him mail, it was with elegant stationary. Then I let him move out in favor of Static, but I made the wrong choice and I'm really starting to miss him. I'm planning on giving my friend Static (their dreamie) and then will search for Elvis on TBT.

Snooty Villager Pick: Diana- Oh my gosh, I want Diana so much!!! She would be the perfect compliment to Fauna. Unfortunately, I can not seem to find her, even though I have enough bells. I've set up multiple trades, but either the trader accidentally tt'd her out or never responded. I've entered multiple raffles, but am very unlucky. I came across a Diana auction but someone bought her out literally 1 minute before I viewed the thread! Even tried reddit...no luck. Would be willing to pay up to 20 million bells for her!

2nd Snooty Villager Pick: Ankha- I love studying ancient Egypt, mythology, and all that stuff. As a result, it was natural I wanted an Egyptian villager in my town. I didn't want Lucky however, as I already had two lazies, so I settled with Ankha. I found her in my campsite one day without even searching for her (wish Diana was that easy)!

Peppy Villager Pick: Bianca- She's a snow leapord, plus I like her house. In fact, she was one of my first five villagers, and the first to greet me when I started the game! (The only other peppy I like is Peanut, but she's too pink.)

Normal Villager Pick: Fauna- She was a random move-in, and I thought I would keep her due to reminding me of my dog, even though she's a deer. (TBH, I don't care for many of the popular normals, such as Marina, Merengue, Lolly).

Uchi Villager Pick: Muffy- I love how she's a black/goth sheep, plus her horns resemble purple headphones. She's the perfect compliment to Pietro lol. I traded with my friend to get her.

Roald - Starter, but he's really cute. There's 2 other Jocks I want though so he won't be staying.

Merengue - Starter, we don't click though so.. money.

Marshal - Cute, but his house is in the wrong place so... money.

Tabby - Starter, not staying.

Alfonso -Random move in, but adorable. I might keep him.

Elvis - Starter, not keeping.

Broffina - Starter, not keeping.

Katt - Random move in, not keeping.

Well, for my dreamies ~

Erik - Honestly, he's not the prettiest deer in the world. I love how he's more of a reindeer type of deer, though. He reminds me of the camping trips I had as a younger child and is an adorable lazy, who fits in well with my magical woodland theme.

Molly - She is just the essence of woodlands. I have had her in every single town I've ever had and I'm not giving her up. She is the sweetest, most adorable duck in-game and I think she is just wonderful.

O'hare - I've had him in two of my towns. Sadly, in both I lost him to tting. He was the first ever dreamie I had in my time playing AC so he holds a special place in my heart. Also, DAT HAT DOE.

Whitney - I haven't really had her before, but she looks so beautiful and seems so independant. In a way, she reminds me of Pocahontas. She is a stunning wolf, and as much as I love Diana, why not Whitney? So far, I love her.

Deirdre - I had her in my first town, and, again, lost her to tting. She was a fabulous uchi and I think she deserves more attention. She and O'hare are very underrated given their fun personalities and looks. This sounds ridiculous but her teeth remind me of Barney the Dinosaur and Barney is my childhood <3

Bill - Wtf why do I have to explain. Personally, I dislike the jock personality. I thought he looked cute so I adopted him from a cycling thread and fell in love. All I got from him was a sweet, small duck, not a stuck up jock. I lost HIM to tting also, and was devastated. To be reunited with him would be a gift.

Maple - I had her in my first town but didn't get her held when I reset. I had a lot of good memories with her and her eyes are just too cute to say no to ok.

Fang - In my second town, he moved in from the campsite. I thought, 'hmm, this'll be different'. I didn't have a cranky at the time, and he and I became lovely friends. He is the sweetest wolf imo. Sadly, my brother reset my game before I got him held.

Fauna - Ever since I had her in my first town, I knew she was my favourite villager. My whole acnl time revolved around her, and soon her plot was gone. In shock, I reset my town because I needed her in my life. To have her back now, in my woodland town, would make me very happy.

Dotty - honestly, I think I may replace with Felicity. I love Felicity :3
