Why can't I grow blue roses?

For around two weeks now, I've had a pair of blue roses on my beach. I water them every time I play (I think I missed one day), but I haven't seen any more pop up.

What am I doing wrong?

I second this. If you cant get fertilizer then just keep watering everyday. I remember it took me a few days before new flowers would appear.

I feel that the blue hybrids are always one of the hardest to grow.

It shouldn't be that difficult to grow blue roses if you're just propagating them from an existing pair. Are you watering other flowers in your town? Because that will lower the chances that the game will choose your blue rose pair to generate offspring. Also, your animals might be watering other flowers in your town without you knowing, leading to the same result. I would say just keep trying!

Also, I've found that I tend not to get expected offspring (as in, offspring from flowers that I've watered) on rainy days. I'm not entirely sure why. That could be it too, especially if you've had a string of gloomy days.
