I want to breed more hybrids from the black and gold roses I already have, but when I put them together and water them with the golden watering can, it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me why? Here is a picture:

You can't grow gold roses this way. You have to water wilted black roses to get gold roses. :)

I usually put them diagonally, not next to each other. The hybrids usually grow in between.

And yeah, gold roses can't breed :(

I also suggest planting the flowers diagonally, at least this way you can have more than two flowers involved in the breeding; it will also encourage hybrids to grow. This technique used to help me a lot! :)

if you want to breed some more black roses, i suggest you place them diagonally rather than right next to each other, and maybe get some fertilizer if you can.

best of luck!

I like to make a 3 x 3 box of flowers and bury fertilizer in the middle if I want more hybrids. I also get a lot of black roses just from watering groups of red roses I have in my town.
