Why are "Original" Villagers such a big deal?

I'm not obsessed with being 100% original, but I've seen houses where villagers only have two pieces of furniture in their house. I wouldn't want to get that and have to fix it.

Roald's house ended up like that in my town. I have no idea how. All he had was his balloon bed and a green lamp. It was pretty upsetting to see. I couldn't get him to change it no mater what.

The only thing that bothers me about 'unoriginal' villagers are their shirts. Luckily that's easily fixable.

I usually don't care if a villager I get is unoriginal, but the reason why I like some villagers to be original is because their house interiors are very nice or cool-looking, and if their house gets ruined then >~<

Also, some reasons why I want Ruby and Octavian in my second town to be original is because of their space-themed houses, since my second town is partially astronomy-themed.

This is exactly why...like a bunch of bugs and fish and fossils! XC So awful looking to me. I stopped giving that stuff to my villagers so long ago, and it's really difficult to get them out of their houses once they have them in there. It just makes your work so much harder.

If you have an unoriginal villager that you want to adopt out, maybe take some pics of what their house looks like before they go into boxes. That way you can show people how little or how much is different in their house. Sayings and clothes are easier to change, but the house thing is a big deal.

I once got an "original" villager, and one thing was different in her house when I got her. I wasn't mad about it, because the person probably forgot, but even if they'd told me, I would have been ok with it...not gonna turn down a dreamie over ONE furniture item being different.

I am very particular with my villager's houses, I even refuse to give them stuff that would ruin their house

People just don't like their villagers houses looking messy, or not matching? I don't understand why it really matters either...

Yea I don't get it either, well I mean I get that you don't want bugs & fish in their house buy why so specifically their original furniture. I don't understand you people.

yeah, I honestly don't get why people care about originality so much, considering villagers change their shirts/catchphrases/houses and stuff so easily, haha!!
