I tend to get most of my villagers through random move-ins or the campsite. Pixels was down a few, and I just got my last random move in, who's Rudy the cat. I've never heard of him before now and I just find him so adorable! Nevermind the fact that I need to update my just updated signature I feel like I'm really gonna like him.
Awh I love Rudy. (,: You really are going to like him, methinks. I've enjoyed getting his pic(s!), redecorating his house, talking to him in general. . .I'm convinced he's more than friends with Kiki who also lives in my town.
Anyway, my favorite random move-in: Diana. I have her Amiibo card so I feel like she always be with me (I've decided to let her move since I already have a cutie snooty and 2 is a bit much for me). She has a cute design, house, and I changed her catchphrase to "daaahling" since she's a snobby but sweet lil dumpling.
In my current town Taiga, I had Nate as a random move-in. I originally planned on getting rid of him, but I ended up liking him a lot. Now he is a permanent resident in my town and one of my favorite villagers.
I haven't had any random move-ins that I really love in my current town (unless you count my starting villagers, in which case I adore both Teddy and Blanche), but in my previous town, I had Lily move in, and she was so cute and sweet that I quickly made her a permanent resident. No matter how often she asked to move out, I never let her! She was the first frog villager I ever got who I actually liked, previously having had Wart Jr., Jambette, and Camofrog who... were not the cutest.
Ditto Shari, who I found unexpectedly adorable and kind, and I loved her natural-colored design which reminded me of a snow monkey sans the red face (although she did had adorable pink cheeks). She ended up being a permanent resident as well. The only other uchi whose design I really like is Mira, but as cute as Mira is, her color scheme doesn't fit as well with the rest of my villagers nor my town's atmosphere. I keep hoping Shari will show up in my campsite once one of my current villagers move out so I can get her back!
Teddy!He was at the campsite and he luckily agreed to live in my town. He is so adorable and friendly. He's even wearing the caveman tank I gave him. His house also has a nice retro vibe to it. No regrets.
Octavian is probably my favorite random move-in.I was playing in my second ACNL town and forgot that somebody had recently moved out and saw a plot for an "Octavian".When I visited him the next day I vaguely remembered having him in my Gamecube town but I wasn't sure what kind of an animal he was back then.
Right now I'd say it's Whitney. I had never had a wolf villager prior to her, and the fact that she's based off an arctic wolf made it all the better for me. I really enjoy Big Top too solely because he's such a neat villager.
In my first town, Kenka, I had Fang move in from the void which was a nice surprise. I think Stinky was one of my first 8 villagers to move in when I made Tinytree. I was happy because he was one of my favorite villagers in Kenka but I lost him to a TT accident but in the end he came back to me :’D
Oh, wow, I've had a lot of random move-ins that I loved...probably because most of my villagers are random. I rarely invite a specific villager into my town. Some of my favorites have been Lopez, Hazel, Scoot, Sydney and Hans. Unfortunately, Hans is the only one of those still with me because the others had bad house placement. Lopez plopped his house quite literally 3 steps in front of my door!
But Hans is special because about a week or so before he moved in, he had been in my campsite and even though I wanted to invite him, I didn't because I was leaving a space open for my only dreamy, Grizzly. So the next time a villager left and I got a random move-in, I was very excited when I saw Hans' plot...and in a good spot, too.
My favourite random move-in is Tangy. I actually got her via streetpass and I'm SO glad this wonderful accident happened because I always brought my 3ds during my commute. Tangy is really awesome and I'm sure things would be very different if I didn't bother to streetpass a random person.
Kid Cat!
I let a mouse move out when my town was a few weeks old to put a pwp (I forget which) where his was and Kid Cat Randomly moved in the same place over night. He's been here ever since.
Marina the octopus! I had every intention of getting her, though, so maybe she doesn't count.
Other than her, I also love Sylvia the kangaroo! I'd never seen her before she randomly moved into Auroral one day, but I just happened to fall instantly in love with her. I think she was actually the first random move in I got, too, if I'm remembering correctly! She keeps asking to move, though, and I'm like... bby... no... I love you too much...
I got Prince in my town a while ago and thought that was awesome since my fiance and I are both Prince fans. (The musician, not the royal family) I have given him greetings and catchphrases referencing his songs and I have a lot of fun doing that.
Probably Marshal. I wondered why Marshal was a super popular villager until he moved in, I really like smug villagers and he's really adorable! I also got Pietro, making me have 2 of my friend's dream villagers lol
