After playing ACNL Harvest Festival I started collecting item early November for ACNH. I looked at the Guide for ACNH and it's easier than ACNL. New Leaf had more recipes to prepare for.

The barred knifejaw was a pain to catch on my island. So I went to a mystery island and see if my luck would change. Got it after 3 hooks.

I had to ask a friend for a green pumpkin and hopefully it sprouts before Turkey Day. But I need to go fishing to grab those fish before then...

I just saw a game guide on Instagram from a account called 8bitbish and it had a guide how the whole day is going to run and how to unlock everything. It looks like the next day the 27th you can just buy all the turkey day diys from nooks cranny. If you didn’t want to cook and play the on the 26th

Yes! Thankfully I have a lot of the stuff I need already in my storage just had to find a mussel and dungeness crab and now I'm all prepped!

There will be another update that unlocks Turkey Day and it's items. Likely going to drop later tonight, maybe around 9-10am Japan time.

Yea, it’s always prioritized by what’s a reasonable time in Japan, but that can be middle of the night for some.

Even then though, you’ll have to wait for 5am ingame for anything new to show up, unless you time travel.
