I've had Animalia since 21st September 2016, but recently it's gone downhill and very boring to the point where I want to reset it. I know I will deeply miss it (I'll still have the photos) but I think it's about time it gets put out of it's misery. One of the reasons that I'm resetting is because I went a bit too far with hacks. I accidentally gave myself 999,999,999 bells in the bank and my house fence and pavement never changes. Plus the town layout is horrible and hardly has any space. As for my two GCN towns, I will NEVER reset them. I planned on resetting my first GCN town once but I thought "nah" (which was when I created my second GCN town on a different memory card).
This is exactly how I feel about my first town. I'm extremely satisfied with it. I used to play it a lot way, way back a year ago to the point I feel like it's complete as far as landscaping goes. It's been on hiatus for several months now. I couldn't bring myself back to playing it again regularly after the update because of the opportunity of creating another town with new villagers and make new memories. It once crossed my mind to delete it but couldn't when I remember the time and effort that was put into making everything. Good thing that I have multiple copies of the game so I can still play normally with my new town and at the same time, look back on the other town whenever I miss it or maybe play with it again sometime.
**** i used to reset my towns all the time like a month or week after i started id be like "this is boring, reset hur hur hur )" i never was ever really attached to a town mostly because i was a dumbass and only liked socializing with people on club tortimer (shudders) and time traveled through everything. the longest town i had was kiwai (lol my 11 year old self trying to spell kawaii) and mayor candy. all i remember from that town is like going to club tortimer 24/7 and having my town set to april 1-10th forever. and that town only lasted for at least a few months like 4 maybe
when the next game comes out im gonna be super careful about time traveling and resetting but they should really make more features like being able to change faces, town names, edit the map etc. i feel like a lot more people wouldn't have reset towns if this was the case
I could never bare to reset my town, I've had the same town since I got the game on its release date. I do think that when the next Animal Crossing is released they should definitely give us more freedom in choosing our town layout and altering it when we want to further along in the game - for a large fee even.
I'd never reset my town, mind you I did get bored so I brought a new New Leaf card to play on and use to muck around on & learn to hack but I never got around to it so it has just been sitting there for over a year now untouched.
Its really nice reading your experiences with resetting (either being able to or not) i do agree with some of you that a town can get boring afrer a while, and sometimes its just nice to start fresh. But since im still to attached to my town, my villagers.. my home, i think im gonna start saving up to buy anorher copy...
I've had my town since release and I'm always tweaking it. I have no intention of starting over and having to unlock everything and fill up my catalog, and collect badges. I'm only missing the gold streetpass badge, I can't imagine restarting and having to start that all over.
I reset once like two years ago for a map layout I liked. Then tried to get back my old villagers that I love. Dizzy, Pango, Shep, etc. I got lucky and most of them appeared in the campsite, while some others I got from people here. But I understand what you mean and I don't see myself resetting this town ever, tbh. But for the people who want to, being able to keep the catalog and get millions of Bells helps them build their towns back up faster.
I've had my town ever since New Leaf released, and I couldn't imagine resetting. I've made so many memories, and the progress I made... I would never want to give it up.
Once it becomes a real town I never reset them. My main town was started on the release and love the villagers.
They are stuck with me forever. I found my main town very relaxing.
All towns have full stores, all the golden tools, 2 mayor completed badges and other almost done. I can't reset after that much progress. Understand why some players reset it. In my 4th town I almost reset it when I started because of rocks. I managed to work around them and it no longer bugs me. I now love the town.
With my newest town it wasn't going to be a real one but changed my mind. It has 4 ponds but I'm going to make it work.
Just need to catch the scorpion before adding PWP to the town. Excited to make my first Boy Mayors town.
My first town was a mess. I had fun with it, but I had no idea what I was doing or what I wanted to accomplish when I started it xD so,after a year I decided to sell it to nook and start a new one. I also wanted to have apples! So nook paid me 33 millions and Biscotti was born. I love Biscotti! I planned everything and I feel it's so much more clean and cute. Ofc the old town it's still in my heart, but when you feel like something is not ok you might as well just sell and start again. I wouldn't have done it if Nook would have not buy my old town though! Starting with a lot of bells and an unlocked catalogue is pretty cool! Now I would never re start again. I love Biscotti, I feel like it really represents me and it feels like home!
I could never imagine resetting... all that hard work, all those badges collected, all those milestones achieved... plus yes, I am sentimentally attached to my villagers. I have had Yuka since the beginning and she was such a jerk to me but I worked on her with lots of gifts and letters and conversation and now, she is devoted to me. I even tried to let her move out but she decided I didn't mean it because we were "best friends." It makes the game feel more special when you have that long history with the animals.
It has been tempting because I inherited my town from my boyfriend who stopped playing, so I never had a chance to choose my own layout or town name or be mayor (I only play his mayor character once in a while for maintenance.) For that reason I have thought about buying a 2nd cartridge and starting from scratch.... but I'm not there yet.
I'v been thinking about starting my town again, its the same one i had when i first got the game when it was released. The problem is i have a lot more knowledge on maps types/grass types/fruit ect all the basics, I just accepted the first map i was given thinking nothing of it. now that im trying to landscape i just hate how i have 3 ponds all by the train station. I didnt think much about placing my coffee shop either. The trouble is i love the villagers i have now.
Is there a way of moving all my villagers to another town along with all my stuff?
Or do i just accept and work with what i have?
