Who do you think the Unknown Sender at the start of the game is?

Remember that letter that you get at the start of the game, where an "Unknown" tells you via letter they were supposed to be mayor? Who do you think that was?

I personally think that its rover. You talk to him once on the train and never see or talk to him again unlike previous titles. He could have been riding to go be mayor, but then he saw you and made you the mayor? Thats just my theory: Or it could have been Isabelle but thats unlikely

tortimer was the mayor before you, lol. I think both he and Isabelle mention that at some point.

I saw a comic on tumblr where Isabelle revealed to the mayor that tortimer's grandson was supposed to be mayor, but she thought he was to irresponsible, so I think that's a cute idea. but I've also seen tons of theories about rover that are also believable. :')​

I just always assumed it was Tortimer. I never thought anything of rover, except that he made a reference to the O.G. Animal Crossing.

It's Tortimer... he was the mayor in the older games.... when i was watching a playthrough i thought it was him too
