Sterling and Knox, because sometimes the universe is awesome. Those two visit each other's birthdays and the other day he went on about how great Knox is out of nowhere.
Julian and Colton, I didn't ship them before they were in my town but they definitely had a love triangle with Sparro when he was still around, I wouldn't have picked Sparro for that if I had a choice but sometimes you can only sit back and watch things unfold. Once Sparro left Colton started being distant, I always had trouble finding Colton since he always hides out in shops and museum exhibits but when Sparro was around he seemed to hang out in town more, but the moment that bird left things returned to normal. Not long after Colton sent me a sad letter about how his 'love was over before it had a chance to really begin' or something like that, Colton may only be my fifth favorite horse villager and he may avoid me relentlessly but things like this make me happy to have him.
Whitney and Phoebe are apparently best friends but to me they come across as enemies. Phoebe talks about how Whitney insulted her furniture (I had already given Phoebe more gorgeous furniture to go with her bed, I have no idea what was being made fun of here) and Phoebe talked about how Whitney looked like a pale chub and we might be facing a fish invasion (not sure if roundabout insult, or just crazy). However when Phoebe's birthday rolled around Whitney was right at the party having a great time and other villagers talk about what good friends they are so maybe I'm missing something here.
Sadly Roscoe, Dotty, and Drago don't seem to have any best friends, at least among my current villagers. Dotty used to be best friends with Sparro before he moved (such a little player that one) but aside for occasionally mentioning Julian she doesn't seem to mention or be mentioned by other villagers. Roscoe despite being in my town longer than any of my current villagers hasn't had a best friend in all the time I've known him, aside for my mayor if that counts, I have about five villager pics of him so I guess I'm his best friend but to every other villager he doesn't seem to exist. Drago is just forever alone though, I try to talk to him every day but he may be competing with Colton for the village loner.
