Today marks a year that Diana has been in my town. Yep, a year; Not a year in TTing, but a YEAR. She moved in my town on July 2nd, 2014. And, ironically, she's actually coming over to my house this morning. *^_^*
So, I thought I'd share my story since it's actually really cute...
A year ago, I didn't know someone was supposed to move into my town. When I got onto my town, I saw a plot right by my house. I got kinda mad since there was an unplanned villager right by my mayor's house, but I remember seeing Diana's name on the plot and said, "Who?" ;_; Yeah... Heh...
Anyway, she moved in the next day. I went inside to welcome her to her temporary town since I was planning to get her out anyway. But, as soon as she said I was "As sweet as coffee cake", I fell in love with her.
Now an exact year later, and she's my best friend. c: I'll never let her go, and I'm so happy that she hasn't left me. She has been my favorite villager ever since she has moved in. Who ever thought a voided villager would turn out to be my favorite? Oh, and I must add, I'm actually extremely happy that her house is by mine. It looks really cute, especially how close we are, huhu ^^
Which of your villagers has been with you the longest, and for how long? Is there a backstory or was that villager your dreamie?
I think Pudge has been with me the longest. It would've been Pietro or Julian but they both moved out randomly. ;-; Needless to say, I'm being more careful so I don't lose Pudge. He's been my best friend ever since Wild World.

In my last town I had Flora in my town the longest. I loved her so much, she's too cute. Unfortunately after not playing for several months when I returned she had moved. Since then I've started a new town. But she's very adored and memorable to me because of that
stitches was a starter of mine and my first dreamie so i had him the longest, lost him when i started playing again though. now i'm cycling and have gotten through loads of villagers. except, lucky, my last original dreamie shows no signs whatsoever of moving. i think it's pretty funny, convinced even maybe that it's a glitch xD but i don't mind him around.
Bruce! He has been in my town since the start. Just a few weeks ago he packed up and left But I was happy when I checked my cycle town and found out he moved in days later!
Fang: been with me for like, forever. Colton, one of my originals who I've had for 2 years now, moved out a few weeks ago. I wish there was a way to stop them from leaving!
I just realized today that I've had Joey in my town for just over 2 years. Joey was one of my original 5 villagers when I started my town back in 2013. He's asked to move out many times and I always think I'll let him go, but then he tells me he wants to move and I just can't let him go. I got kind of annoyed with how his house was so close to mine, but when I thought about it, everything would just look weird without his house there since its been there from the beginning.
I think I've had Tia the longest! She was a random move in (been a year, May 11th 2014 according to the tree!), but I've kept her for so long because she's right next to my house, and I love the fact she's tea-themed (tea is my favourite drink, guess where I'm from haha).
Here's mine:
New Leaf is actually my first Animal Crossing game to ever play, and I only got it because a lot of my friends played it, so I wanted to see what the hype was all about. Also, I was waiting for Pokemon X and Y to come out, so I needed something to play in the mean time. Well shortly after I bought it, I visited one of my friend's towns and she had this fabulous gay unicorn, so I just HAD to speak to him! Well, since I was new, I didn't know that you could sort of "steal" villagers, but that's kind of what happened. ^^; She told me she started her game sometime after that, and Julian was just gone. Well, I had started up my game to find that Julian had set his plot near my house. I told her about that and she was pretty sad/mad (no hard feelings though). I kept him the past 2 (IRL) years, and we were the BEST of friends. It literally got to the point that anytime I did him favors he would give me his picture. Every time. I have about 10 of them from that, not to mention others from the April Fool's events. But I finally decided that I needed to let him go to someone else, so I re-homed him just a few weeks ago, and he ended up sending me ANOTHER picture! Now that I'm cycling though, another one ended up moving in lol. I eventually want to restart a new game (or even buy a 4th copy) and get him again. c:
It really was a perfect fit though, because I'm a gay unicorn too. So that's why Julian will always be my favorite villager. <3
aw thats such a cute story! her house lines up perfectly with yours ^.^ I just started a new town so i only have a few close villagers, but fauna would be my closest and ill never let her move.
Olaf is my favourite villager in the animal crossing universe.
I remember me looking at the animal crossing website too see all the villagers and when I saw a certain villager (Olaf) I immediately wanted him. The next day I got him and I was super pleased, he was super fancy and kind. I really liked him I shared Sharks and Rare bugs with him and then one day when I gave him a Goliath Bettle he gave me his picture.
Then a year later he moved...I was devastated, but when I got the Letter he give me another pic of him.
It showed he really cared about me.
But thanks to the kind people I got him in my third town.
So thank you for reuniting him with me.
And hopefully you will help me get him again.

my lolly-pop has been with me since the first month or so of me having my town! ACNL was my first animal crossing game so i didn't realize there was an online community for it. i was surprised when a few weeks in i found a bunch of tumblrs dedicated to it! after reading through a bunch of them, i started learning the names of the villagers and came across pictures of lolly that someone had posted. i fell in LOVE with this cute little kitty, and she soon soared to the top of my villager wishlist. then, the best part: literally the next day i had a camper and guess who it was? <3 little lolly has been with me ever since and she's never leaving me ever.

My longest-running villager is Tom. He's been in my town for two years. A friend said he was moving and since I didn't have a full town and he's a cat, I said I'd take him.
And now I love him to bits. He lives just across the bridge from me and even though he's cranky, he's pretty darn sweet. I give him catchphrases like "get off my lawn!"
If we had the ability to lock in a villager/give them permanent resident status, Tom would be top of my list.
I've had Whitney in my NL town ever since I started it about two years ago! She's one of my favorite villagers. ^^
I managed to have her starting off when I found a town with the exact layout I wanted after two days of searching. Once I found out that she was one of the original five villagers, I was ecstatic! Thankfully she is still in my town to this day.
She does have a backstory though. When I started off with WW around 7 or 8 years ago, she moved into my town one day and I absolutely loved her. She'd been in my town for a while when I also got CF, and then by chance she moved into that town! It was pretty interesting to have her in both games. And well, I soon realized how easy it was for villagers to move when she moved out of both towns within weeks of each other. I was so upset as she was my favorite villager in both towns. I hadn't had her in any other circumstance until I bought NL and instantly got her, which was a plus!
