For New Horizons its been Octavian. I found him on a nook mile island and invited him solely because I needed a cranky villager to fill out my island. I love him now! I love the cranky personality in this game and his design just fits so well with it. He also always wears all the clothes I give him (the octopus villagers are so cute in hats!). He's staying on my island for sure.

Bob. I kept seeing all the dancing gifs of him and then when i met him in game, all he wanted to talk about was naps and snacking. how could i not fall in love? recently he told me i'm his snack buddy for life and i think i'll die for him.

This might be a cop out bc shes super popular anyways, but I wasn't initially the biggest fan of Audie! And then I found her on an island and decided to invite her and omg she fits the peppy personality perfectly. Shes definitely staying!

Kiki. I saw her on a mystery island and decided to take her in case I would have fiund worse villagers because my luck was bad that day. Eventually she started to grow on me a lotttt, and now she's a permanent resident of Mochi.
Skye. Met her on an island, decided to invite her, now she's my book buddy! She's constantly asking me to pick out books for her and talking to me about writing, which I love as a writer. My other normal Celia is all about the baking instead.
And Bones! He is PERFECT for the lazy personality. That beagle face, those doofy eyes, I love that doggo.

Flip! I moved him in with amiibo to replace Axel. I was planning on having Flip be temporary and then replace him with Bam, but... I really like Flip now! He's growing on me and I don't want him to leave so I guess I'll just have two jock villagers now or switch between him and Bam from time to time

Almost all of my dreamies were found by chance.
Poppy, Axel and Grizzly were two of the first five starter villagers on my first town in New Leaf; when I restarted, Molly and Fang were in the first five of that town, and I fell in love with them.
However, the most surprising one started out as a villager I despised and slowly began to love overtime; Derwin.
I loved his personality, his school theme, and his "nerd" theme really began to grow on me. At first I was tempted to swing my net everytime I saw him, then it turned to wanting to swing my net at those who made him cry.
I have him on my New Horizons town now and couldn't be happier. He's adorable and so sweet.

I thought Sherb was kinda meh when I saw his few first pics released by Nintendo but when I encountered him on a hybrid mystery island, I fell in love instantly.
I found Erik through an Island tour too and thought he was super cute but never intended on him to stay - but he's just grown on me so much over the past few weeks.
And I already have Zucker as my dreamie so my island is gonna be full of lazy creatures.
Boyd - I'm not sure he's really reached "dreamie" status but this cranky gorilla warms my heart so much.
I have a huge dilemma cause I also have 3 crankies - lol.

I’d never seen him before, met on a mystery island and wasn’t initially sold but still invited him back. Now he’s my absolute favorite villager and I give him every black clothing item. He lives off in his own corner of the island, and in the cannon backstory of my island i’ve created lol, he runs the power plant and does maintenance work.

Megan, at first i thought she was meh, but now that Ik her she’s so sweet and have grown to love her design. A severely underrated villager imo
Shep, the villager that was forced by campsite who I was devastated when I found out he was forcibly moving in, has grown to be one of my favorites. His design also really grew on me and i think he’s adorable. Also, he’s gr8 to talk to

Megan! I found her on an island and she quickly turned into a permanent dreamie of mine. I now have a top 3. <3 Punchy, Felicity and Megan.
I invited Velma through amiibo because I was getting tired of a lot of my villagers and I really wanted a change of pace because they take their sweet time with asking to move out and non-amiibo campers visiting x'D I know it probably sounds weird to accidentally have a dreamie that's an amiibo, but I pulled her randomly.
I didnt originally plan on Velma being permanent, and she probably still wont just because I got access to her at anytime, but I forgot how much I love her! She's definitely gonna be staying for a good while or at least return in the future if I ever let her go.
It doesn't help that she also fits the new island theme I've recently switched to really well!

drift??? it was so unexpected, but i was just trolling through the jock villagers wikia and thought, oh he's kinda cute for a jock lol, and then immediately after i started casually looking for him, someone had him and i had a spot and he moved in and truly i just adore his bones now.
this was wild because i've never liked frogs before!! not in any of the previous games. so unexpected, but his colouring, bright eyes, sweet enthusiasm and his house are so lovely. it makes me smile just to watch him move around town. also, he's so small and he plops on the ground so often its preeeecious.

Carmen!!! I think she's definitely underrated, and I love her mint chocolate color-scheme. Her official renders never do her any justice, but in game she's great.
Also Sherb. He's another one who's official art/render doesn't do him any justice, but after seeing him on a Mystery Island I realized he's very adorable!
