It's never too early to start I suppose :p

I already know the ups and downs of Hoenn, so I'm trying to pick an adventure team. Problem is, I am torn between getting a Blaziken, or a Swampert. I've made pretty balanced hypothetical teams, but I'm not sure which one I should use.

bumping for the night

I want to see more results, but it looks like a nice lean on Swampert~

Kind of a shame that there's just no other good fire types out in Hoenn besides Blaziken

but yeah, I'm thinking Swampert ^^ thanks guys

Swampert!! It was my fave when I played Emerald and totally the strongest of the Hoenn starters c: I love Torchic as well, but Blaziken is kinda lame and it was really weak imo

Define "good". If you mean good for Competitive play, then yeah. If not, consider:

Torkoal
Camerupt
Castform (Sunny Form)

I'm extremely biased towards Swampert, but after using a Magnezone line in a White 2 nuzlocke, I've grown a lot of respect for them. I've used Azumarill in the past and they're great to, but that Magnezone was the MVP of my nuzlocke, if you haven't used one before, you should. ^^

I've looked over Magneton and it's really good for an adventure team (especially for the last gym and the ice elite four)

I kinda wish they would add a place where you can evolve Magneton into Magnezone

There's almost guaranteed to be a place to evolve Magneton, Nosepass (introduced in gen 3, now has Probopass), the grass/ice Eevveelutions, etc.

Just based off your hypothetical teams and the old games...

Benefits of Blaziken/Azumarill:
Good against Roxanne, Wattson, Flannery, Norman, Tate and Liza, Sidney, Glacia

Benefits of Swampert/Magneton
Good against Roxanne, Wattson, Flannery, Winona, Tate and Liza, Wallace/Juan, Glacia, Wallace

I'd like Blaziken more.

Proves that Team Swampert is more efficient, picks Team Blaziken

If I were you, I'd just pick whichever one I wanted more and get like a torchic/mudkip through xy

Neither. Lets please not get into that "Team Jacob/Team Edward" crap all over again, even if it is Pokemon.

Swampert can practically tank through anything and resists most types
But blaziken is a jack of all trades
what does your team need?

Go with Swampert, the homewrecker.

I don't know why the fighting chicken is so popular when Swampert is pretty much the destroyer of the three.

I say go with Blaziken (my bias haha). I'd personally always start out with a torchic whenever I played my sapphire version. Team looks pretty solid.
