Gen 1 ~ Charmander
Gen 2 ~ Cyndaquil
Gen 3 ~ Mudkip and Torchic
Gen 4 ~ I don't remember (I know I played it and beat it or most of it).
Gen 5 ~ Piplup
Gen 6 ~ Froakie

Uh... you know Piplup is a generation 4 starter, right??

in alpha sapphire i started with mudkip. i haven't played a lot of older games, i played a little when i was a lot younger but i kept starting over because i couldn't save on the gameboy color i was playing on so i guess i played with all starters from that game then lol

Platinum - I played with all three (combination of resetting/trading) right from the start! I think Chimchar may have technically been my starter though.

I remember I started with Froakie in X, but I can't remember if it was Treeko or Mudkip in Alpha Sapphire.

When I first played Blue Version I always chose Charmander, but after a while I started going with Squirtle.

For Gen 2 I saw an EGM magazine with the first look at G/S and immediately I knew Totodile was the one I would choose.

For Gen 3 I choose Mudkip simply because I liked the design best.

Gen 4 saw me not caring for any of the designs and choosing the lesser of three evils, Chimchar, also known as the only new fire type in that gen besides Magmortar.

In Gen 5 I liked all three starters, but something about Snivy really drew me in. Possibly its expression. Very tsundere looking.

And for Kalos I actually didn't know who to pick thanks to the knowledge of getting a Kanto starter in the same game. I wanted Mega Blastoise, so I didn't want to get Froakie, so I chose the fire type this time.

Hmm lemme go into the dark corners of my mind...
For Red I picked squirtle, named him Wumbo. Silver, I chose totodile and named him Toto. Soulsilver, I chose chikorita( I was so young, I regret choosing it now ;-; ). In Diamond I chose piplup. In Black, I chose Snivy. Pokemon Black 2 I chose Oshawott and named him Bob(Bob swag). In X I chose chespin and named her Sepia, and finally in Omega Ruby I chose treecko and named him Captain. :3

Still haven't chosen a fire type lol (except if you count the time you could choose Hoenn starters in SS, then torchic would be my only fire type)

Water starters are always my go to pick. However, I did pick Cyndaquil in gen 2. I just really love Typlosion. He's a fire breathing honey badger, that won me over.
