Where is everyone?

honestly it was hard for me to let animal crossing go but I was clearly burnt out .I didn't want to play an action game and I had played Stardew Valley, Minecraft and The Sims to fatige while waiting for animal crossing. but summer in mana and persona 4 golden is out and I finally manage to stop with ac lmao. probably the hype will somewhat return when we get a big update

i play daily and since im resetting tomorrow ill be more active trying to rebuild an island and terraform so im still here~
I dont really open for any events but maybe ill consider doing that since I didnt even notice activity was declining

I haven't stopped playing, but since my work has gone back to full time (from just a couple days a week), my time that I play has changed. That is probably the case with others, so it may look like people have stopped coming on.

Still here but the lack of updates and unlockables are frustrating me to the point i had to take a little break from it and play other games

Yeah I've noticed this as well. I am finding it a bit of a chore to login and do dailies now since I've logged 600+ hours and played since launch. If you do want to trade, I think reddit is still decent and efficient (e.g. r/actrade, r/acvillager).

Unless we get an update soon, I’ll probably be too busy running through Last of Us and then part 2. I’m still on this site, though.

I think I am a bit dense about this...I started to play around middle of April and become more active on this forum around May so I don't feel too much of difference, but then again I never experience the peak when the game first released so I cannot say much.

I do still play daily and spend 4 hours at least everyday...sometimes I wonder why do I spend so much time playing. :ROFLMAO:

I've been playing noticeably less as well, I'm preparing to move into my college's dorms to be an RA for the year. All the preparation has eaten some of my time. The lack of updates and hype is another factor as well

People have lives beyond playing games so some may have had to go back to work, moved on due to boredom of playing, other games came out, quarantine may have wrapped up for them, and other reasons I may have missed. I may come off as rude here, but I'm glad that some people who brought their competitiveness to the scene have stopped playing. At least the drama will cool down a little and I don't remember the Animal Crossing community having this kind of vibe before.

Yeah, for better or for worse, between quarantine restrictions easing, the game having been out for a few months and people having obtained a lot of what they're currently after, it makes sense that things would slow down. We're also on the tail end of the present content patch, so there hasn't been much new to pursue for a couple weeks now (aside from Bug Off this Saturday!).

ngl, even with the recent updates i keep hearing rants from people. whether how redd rarely appears, the wedding event to be too long and repetitive or that rover's appearance was so short (almost as if added last minute as fan service), and they DO have points. makes you think if they really prepared for this.

Aside from what pretty much everyone else has said, I think part of this board in particular slowing down might be the fact there's nothing new to talk about. We already have the rant thread for the majority of anyone's complaints/ideas for how the game should be, there's no news on updates yet, most of everyone still active here knows all the resources and datamined info and guides for things, and sometimes I wonder how many times you could post a thread with the same exact topic word for word every week before people would notice. We're resorting to villager polls now just to have something to do

In relation to this thread's topic I think it was a mistake for Nintendo to release an incomplete game and then dole out more parts of it in a piecemeal fashion. That's one of the reasons we're seeing drop offs in playing and people visiting TBT.People are kind of waiting around for the next part. With New Leaf,we got the entire game up front and it seemed like it took longer to get and to achieve things in that game and that made players retain interest for a longer period of time.

Wasn't everything unlocked within 2-3 months, though? I imagine there was a drop off for that game, too.

Well... I'm still new to this site, but I've slowed down coming on here a bit since the Pokemon Sword/Shield expansion was released. I'm more interested in training than trading right now 😆

But, I mean, the game's been out for a few months and it's gonna slow down a bit. Soon enough we should be getting news of another update, then the new update, and I imagine it'll pick up again. And so on and so forth...

The one thing I'm STILL irritated with them for is not giving us holidays. If I wanna play Halloween in July, I should be able to. I was able to in every other game and now it's like they've decided they're against time travelling or something... despite it being a mechanic in literally every. single. Animal Crossing game to date. They've apparently decided to appeal to the holier than thou "I play this game more ethically than you because I don't time travel" crowd.
(note- I'm not talking about people who don't time travel, that's fine. Play how you want! I'm talking about the ones who don't time travel and berate those who do.)

But, I digress 😒

Personally, I don't mind having frequent updates. I lose interest in games after a few months and slow down, and I actually really like when they release updates around then because it gets me back into it. Like a ton of people hated the idea of Pokemon expansions, but it got me back into the game, so I appreciate them!

I noticed this a while ago. I am burnt out and taking a break and there might be others who are doing the same, but things should get more active once we get a new big update.

ETA: my brother who is new to the franchise stopped playing weeks ago, but maybe he only got the game because of the hype, although he played it so much before he stopped. I wonder how other new players who got the game because it was hot at the moment feel now about it, and if they are thinking of playing it still or they moved on to other games.
