I don't want to mess up my island rating, and I don't understand why you can't put DIYs in storage, but I see tons of people selling DIYs all the time. Where do they put these? Are they just sacrificing island rating or room in house?

I sacrifice my rating by putting them outside, but I know lots of people put them in their basements and other rooms in their house too

I started collecting them and just put them outside the airport, I really do want to build an official "area" for trading.

I have a few merchant booths in front of my resident services. I'll place any duplicates I have on there, and my friends know that whenever they visit, they can grab anything I have laying around there. I won't keep more than 10 laying about though. Once I get up around that amount, I'll either just trash them, or do a giveaway thread here if I'm not too lazy

Do the DIYs sitting stands count as clutter?

I used to all my DIYs in my basement. If that gets full, I put them on my beach haha
Good thing now I don't need to collect them anymore so I've just been tossing them away :$
Takes up too much space, but I like how you can't store it because it kinda forces you to trade with other people rather than hoarding them

I'm actually not sure of that myself. I just place them on the stands to make it look like they are for sale in the "marketplace" I have set up. I don't know what the numbers are as far as how many you can have laying about before your rating starts to take a hit, nor if placing them on something enables them to still be counted as clutter. I'd assume "yes", however, since I'm 'dropping' the item on there, rather than 'placing' it.

I put valuable ones up on nookazon asap, or if its the first duplicate I've acquired of something expensive I save it for my best friend, otherwise I just sell them,

Ok so first I had them in my basement, then I moved them to the first floor and then i said screw it and currently have them laid out in the beach in the far back lol

Scattered on my beach 🙃 I’m gonna redecorate soon though, so I don’t know where to store them
now.

I find people to give them to asap! In the mean time they sit on the beach but not for long. It's always good when I can find someone willing to take the whole lot. I never charge so it's easier just to give them to someone else

I specifically made an extra character to enable my hoarding habits. : P

I'll probably burn them on trading for NM item variants later once I completely fill up my second character's house; I'm just lazy and don't feel like sorting them.

I just drop everything on the ground.. so my island looks like a literal landfill.. have about 1500 items scattered around, and 100's of DIYs just...on the ground LMAO, but recently i fenced it all in so people stop running through it lol.

I used to store them in the basement, then the remaining rooms in my house. Eventually I found the most efficient way to store them was to keep them safe at Nook's Cranny.

I place them on the ground by the open lot next to my Nook's Cranny. I dispose them weekly though.

I have them scattered throughout my house. My left room is dedicated to them, but then I got a bit too many so I needed somewhere else to put them, so I put them in my back room. But then I needed more room, so I put some in my main room. And now I've got a couple in my top floor and basement too. oops

I hoard them in my house while I attempt to sell them on here and other websites. I don't really care about the inside of my house atm so there's literally 3 rooms dedicated to DIY storage right now.
