When you miss a chance of getting a dreamie...

Have you ever had really bad luck in getting a villager you wanted? I don't mean bad luck as in "that villager never moved in randomly", but moments when you were so close to getting your villager but something happened and made you miss that chance.

This thread is for everyone to share stories, cry together, or cheer eachother up!

I'll start: I missed 3 chances of getting one of my dreamies for free in the past month. Funny thing is that this happened with the same dreamie everytime... The first time, the person who was going to give her to me accidentaly voided her. The second time, I had problems with my Wifi and didn't manage to go to the person's town. And the third time, someone PMed me to offer her but I responded one hour too late. (Btw the two last people I mentioned are really nice users from TBT so if they happen to read this: thank you again. <3 )

When my dream Flurry was moving in and I was plot setting her into place Ankha was in my campsite..... and Flurry was my 10th villager at the moment so there was no possible way i could've gotten her </3

I had bought Punchy for 10 mil which was fine and dandy, then he moved out randomly.
SO I managed to get him AGAIN through someone for basically free all she wanted was some DLC and a few street pass things (She was the sweetest person ever and thanks again if your reading this!) BUT I was so stupid and impatient and for some reason that I'm STILL not sure of. I decided to get another dreamie figuring they would both just plot and all would be well with the world and then... punchy never plotted.

I've also been beat out in 3 auctions since then.

It would be nice if we could adopt two villagers at the same time... good luck in finding Punchy again!

One day, for a reason I don't know, the Wi-Fi on my 3DS decided to fail. I couldn't go to the towns of other people. Somebody wanted to give me Curlos for free, and had also won an auction for Erik, and I couldn't adopt either of them. </3 I eventually bought Erik, and found Curlos by chance in the campsite, though. ^^

I forget who the auction was for but it was in one of my many past towns. It came down to the wire and I could have won whoever it was but at the last second, my internet went gammy and turned off.
I think it was Kyle, luckily a nice TBT user gave him to me for free. <3

Stitches is my ultimate dreamie, as in he's the only villager I'm super determined to get... The only stories I have are losing auctions because I have insufficient bells or because of the lack of people who want to give him away.

Tia camped in my town 3 times already but every single time I'm full then some kind soul here on TBT offered yo give her to me for free, because she's my last absolute dreamie, but I couldn't open up a spot for ( got a random move in from a trade) ugh thankfully another fellow TBT user had offered me her again and this time I'm determined to get my baby Tia no matter what happens ><

My greatest dreamie was Stitches. I missed 5 giveaways for Stitches and lost many auctions. I had a deal for him, but a random 10th villager moved in. For auctions, I could never bid more than 5 million bells since I didn't have many bells. Luckily, someone super kind gave me 25 million so I could bid. Recently, I was able to get him! So, I missed many opportunities of getting him, but it all worked out!

I lost Cookie 3 times in the Campsite, 2 times from people who offered her to me, and countless times in cycling threads >.<
I ended up giving up on Cookie, I'm getting Bruce today, and then my town will finally be completed ^^

I have. I don't have many dreamies but I really wanted Freckles in my game. Every single time I saw a giveaway for her here or on tumblr, she'd be taken or voided before I could get her. I nearly got her when someone was cycling, but there were connection issues and that user ended up voiding her. Then after several attempts, I ended up getting her, but once again there were connection issues between me and the user who was giving her to me... thankfully we got someone to hold her so I should be getting her soon, but it was so hard. It doesn't help that most people just auto-void her so she doesn't show up much.
