I'm hoping kappn comes back to the dock probably... just like how everyone thought it was wierd not to be able to dive its wierd not to have kappn and his boat !!

There were also rumours about the Dream suite although I hope it's going to be Kappn. But all we know is at the beginning of august.
There were still some "E3 events" like the Microsoft show last week so I think Nintendo will wait for a more quiet period to bring the news. Not sure but I thought some gaming websites said Microsoft had the last big event so I expect an update video somewhere next week so Nintendo has more attention instead of between a lot of news.

I think it will drop August 1st or 2nd, because the title card announcing Wave 2 in the trailer we got in June had fireworks signaling the firework shows.. The fireworks shows are on Sundays, the 1st is a Saturday and 2nd a Sunday. I would hope they would want us to experience the shows as many times as possible since its only in August so releasing it the first weekend in the month makes sense to me.
The last video was released on the 25th! There is still plenty of hope left for an announcement in the coming days/week

I am hoping that the announcement video will be released either today or tomorrow. Like @Mick said, "The last video was released on the 25th," so I think it could be released tomorrow or it could be released today.
For context the 25th of June was a Thursday, so it isn't tied to a specific day of the week. I do hope we get news soon.

I'm actually not too keen on Kapp'n, I'd love it if it was Brewster instead. Kappn always kind of rubbed me the wrong way lol. Either way it'll hopefully bring something new and exciting! I hope it'll be announced tomorrow too.

Didn't think of that, and it makes so much sense if they do it this way.
Either way, I am excited yet skeptical to also be let down by my high expectations.
I think it would have to be sometime next week we'll hear about it, I'm just rreeaally hoping that the new update isn't just firework shows and they add a new npc or something else because I mean, no one else may agree with me, but as a time traveler firework shows are pretty boring, like theres no waiting for it for a whole week to see it and being like wow that's cool, like I'll just time travel to it and onto the next day so fast. Idk, I don't really know how to explain it well but I am hoping for an npc or something else cool
