When is it most likely to catch a Whale Shark or Oarfish?

I've been on the island for about a half hour and haven't seen either.

oarfish are out all day, but i seem to catch them best around 3-4 pm.

I always find more fishes with 'fins' in the evening/night

When I catch them (whale shark) it's usually at night after 7 pmish, I find that sharks seem much more common at night time, at least that's what I think. Also right now it's March in my town so maybe that has something to do with it?

Whale sharks are available all day and all year on the island only. However I've noticed it's more likely to catch one of these guys after 5pm.

Oarfish are available all day, between the months of December and May.. But probably best to catch them in May, when they are the only huge fish available in the ocean (unless it's raining, then you'll find coelacanth too)

Oarfish aren't available on the island as they're a winter/spring fish.
