When does the lighthouse appear?

Hi! I'm new to ACNH (the last AC I played was City Folk). I'm sure this has been asked before, but at what point will I be able to see which color lighthouse my island will be getting? Thanks!

That’ll be an option for you to purchase once the RS building is upgraded. If you’re working at a fair pace, that should happen around a little over a week after starting up your island.
