When do you think TBT will have more weight/value again?

Recently I've seen more threads in Nook's Cranny for TBT so I think it's getting more popular as people start to realize what it is and what it can be used for. Personally I don't use my TBT at all and only have some stuff from when I was active back in 2013

You just gotta look around. During my trading frenzy last week I managed to find people selling stuff for TBT and spent pretty much all of it. What you see now is just from me posting the past few days.

I'm surprised they still have any value, collectible trading is kinda niche in the grand scheme of things and I feel like it has died right down compared to what it used to be like.

Honestly, I think it'll grow a bit again when the forum dies down again. It's pretty popular currently with a lot of people who probably have no interest in collectibles or the community surrounding them - TBT are only useful on this forum after all, and people want to trade things for stuff that's...you know...actually useful to them.

hmm I've only been on this website for a month so I don't really understand the value of tbt
is there anything to use it for except for collectibles and to buy stuff from other people if they want it as a currency?
bc then I'm honestly not very interested in it but I'm really surprised to see people wanting only 1000-2000tbt as payment for Raymond :-O

I mean I don't see a point in having TBT, they just give you some icons on this forum, not very impressive IMO. With NMT, you can actually do something with them, get furniture from islands, get rare islands, search for villagers, profit from them or get villagers you like but you can't do anything except buy like a flower icon, or something to do with your profile pic or something, they aren't in any game, just a number on a website. I can see why people would prefer NMT.

Lately I've seen more shops for TBT and people selling items for it, so I think it's slowly coming back :)

From what I see, the biggest way to use up TBT is for collectibles. I'm not involved in that market so I can't speak to its popularity, but if lots of people are into collectibles and would prefer to collect that over IGB/NMT/items, then demand for TBT should also increase.

I remember TBT being so much more common in the New Leaf days, to the point where it was the main currency I traded with! Nowadays, few people accept it. I personally don't because there's not many ways for me to use it.

I guess that's the catch: TBT isn't popular because there isn't a lot of ways to use it, but because there isn't a lot of ways to use it, it isn't popular.

On threads like these, someone always brings up how they feel TBT is useless anyway and someone says “but you can use it to buy stuff in pokemon from people and some artists ask for it!” and then that just brings me to the question of... why? Why do those people want it? Why is there a market around it that would involve me using it to pay for art in the first place? Idk, maybe it’s just because I only really come here to talk about Animal Crossing (maybe I should branch out, though!) and I’ve never been that interested in collectibles so I don’t get it haha. If people ask for it in exchange for things I need in AC then I’ll pay with it but I’ve just always preferred asking for IGB or wishlist items!

One reason I like TBT because it’s just tidier. I don’t need to run to storage to retrieve my tickets or deal with loading screens on my way to the Nook Miles kiosk. Just click, transfer send and done. Yes, I am that lazy.

Personally, I don't have much use for TBT. I'd be fine using it as payment for things I want to buy, but I'm not that interested in the collectibles on here. I do get the appeal of forum items though; I used to be on a Kpop forum, and I enjoyed having images of Kpop albums, group lightsticks, and such show up under my avatar. The collectibles I've seen on here don't really suit my tastes for the most part though. Well, I might actually go ahead and buy my birthstone since my birthday is this month.

Maybe it's because I'm a new user, but I don't really use TBT at all and only used them to get the New Horizons. That's about it....

I think there are some people on here who still value tbt! I know having a cool collectable line up was really popular not too long ago, and people like to sell stuff from other games (like pokemon) for tbt, or buy art with it and stuff
