What's your flower hybrid "white whale?"

I worked for all of mine and most took the time I figured. Like obviously purple pansies, green mums, and purple windflowers took time and patience. Blue roses took a lot more effort and time, but I got them afterwhile.

But the one that was weirdly hard for me was black cosmos. I got the purple hyacinths, windflowers, and pansies as well as the green mums before I finally got black cosmos.

Blue roses were the hardest for me. Took 3 months, from the beginning steps to finally spawning my first one. But now they're pretty much spreading through my island like a curse XD. I was pretty patient with my hybrids though. The excitement when I first opened my game for the day and going to check my flower fields for a new flower was great! I never got frustrated with it and it felt more fulfilling in the end!

Purple hyacinths. I've bred one since I tried months ago. These hyas just don't seem to get with the picture.

It was blue roses. It took me almost six months of daily playing and following a guide to finally breed my first one. Of course, now they're growing like weeds but that first one felt like it would never appear.

It seems like a lot of people have trouble with them (me too!), but I finally did get some out of just breeding a bunch of orange cosmos together. It just took a long time.

Mine were the blue rose and the green mum. I don't have patience to do that regularly lol. I just bought two of each and started reproducing them.

Random flower question here. Does it matter on the layout of your flowers for hybrids? When I was doing them before, I just focused on couples and having the two flowers side by side. Now I have little gardens set up in a diamond pattern and an x pattern, but they don't seem to want to produce any flower.

It could just be bad luck and misremembering how often my flowers grew before, but do they have to be touching on the sides?

Right now probably the Jacobs ladder/lily of the valley, but that's only because I don't have a 5 star rating. I think I am at 4, but it's been a while since I checked. I wanted to try to have my island be more natural, but Isabelle literally wants you to decorate the island 'head to toe' to get a good rating.

So I'll probably have to just trade for them later. I'd rather decorate the way I want than try to get it 5 star and not like what I had to sacrifice.

Stereotypically enough, the Gold Rose. Or more precisely, the Black Rose, so I can use it to GET the Gold rose. I just kept getting Pink Roses instead.

I found that I didn’t have to have my whole island ‘done’ to get a 5* rating. I put one or 2 things (table & chair or the random decoration) here and there around the island. Then she wanted fences, so I would hide a few behind houses, tuck a couple next to flowers, and got the 5* before I expected.

green. mums. I've managed to breed one but it WON'T clone. I then bought a bunch more here, those also don't clone... Changed locations and everything but I guess it is what it is! Every other hybrid kinda just popped up on my island, even the blue roses.

Orange lilies took an insane amount of time, followed by purple pansies. I think I had trouble with orange roses too. But the champion would have to be pink windflowers, which I just gave up and bought because they absolutely would not grow.

i haven't bred any blue roses myself. i tried for a few in game weeks but messed up a few times and gave up eventually and bought two blue roses on tbt. now i have an abundance of blue roses, but none that i have bred from scratch... i want to do it at some point but it's just too much work.

aside from those two flowers, every flower on my island i have grown myself. i liked the challenge in the beginning of the game. i remember i had a hard time getting the purple windflowers but i eventually got them and now have a ton of them. surprisingly, it wasn't very hard for me to get green mums, i got my first without even specifically trying for that, i just got it from my mum field. that was nice!

I usually grow flowers in a big checkerboard pattern, unless I have only one or two. I've heard that isn't as effective as people once thought, but it's easy to manage. As long as they're adjacent, they have a chance to breed.

I have huge trouble getting any blue roses and purple windflowers. I was able to get randomly one of each a while ago, but trying to get any more somehow didn't work, although I had fields full of roses & windflowers with the right combination to get said colors. Even watering the ones I had in hope they would bread new ones didn't help that much. At some point, I had to get rid off all the roses and windflowers because they took over the whole island and it just became a mess which was not worth it to keep.

Blue roses is definitely difficult for me. I started to go for hybrid breeding seriously starting from May. I almost lost hope until I got my first blue rose three days ago.

I guess time is really a factor.
