If this type of post isn't allowed here please LMK! So far I've found the most popular sites for cataloging are Nook Plaza, VillagerDB, Nook Exchange, and Nookazon. I personally prefer Nook Exchange's user interface and design the most which is why I like using it for my personal wishlist, but since they don't have a "view all" option it would get tedious to go page by page to see my entire catalog. I would've liked to use Nook Plaza since it shows everything on one page but I tried cataloging for a bit and it was lagging a lot for me. So, I wanted to get other people's opinion on their personal favorite cataloging site before I dedicate a couple hours of my life listing my entire catalog and catalog wishlist.

My favorite is Nook exchange because putting thing is my catalog is pretty tedious and I like how you can see everything the game has and just click easily to add things to your catalog. Nookazon is my fav for wishlist tho! Only because in Nook exchange you can't link only your wishlist and people get confused.

Oh for linking people to my wishlist on Nook exchange I just link them to the wishlist directly! For example my wishlist: https://nook.exchange/u/Jeou/wishlist

Not a site but an app. I use ACNH travel guide. It’s $2.99 usd on the App Store (iOS). It has a catalog of clothing, furniture, fossils, bugs, fish, wallpaper, flooring, art, rugs, villagers, shells, diys. You can mark off what you have and you can mark off what you want. It’s really great.

I just wish you could add stuff to your catalog only, and not to the "For trade" cuz I don't wanna trade everything that's in my catalog :s

I really love Nook exchange's interface, but it bugs me that the item colors aren't listed under each item name. I had the hardest time differentiating between the off-white and white versions of the system kitchen. : (

Dang I use android and I don't think there's a version for me yet haha. But I totally forgot about apps! I'll start exploring those too

Yesss that was another reason why I was hesitant in using nook exchange. I hope they add a separate group for things "for trade" vs things "for catalog"

I think they added a new feature recently if you hover over the item picture there's the variation name! I don't think it's available on mobile though :( But I do agree the name should be visible on the item card itself

OHMYGOD. I am a fool. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways. I don't know how I never noticed until now.

i like nookazon a lot because it also doubles as a marketplace. i also really like villagerdb, which i use more than nookplaza because nookplaza separates by category, which makes for slower searches sometimes (like sometimes i hop on the site and try to search for a dress because i want to see the variations, but because the page is automatically set to just look in the furniture category, i have to change that and search in the correct category- just takes a tiiiny bit more time haha)

I'm pretty loyal to Nookplaza for now. It was the first one I knew of that had all the variations and it continues to update and be super useful for my needs. :)

VillagerDB for making lists. They're easy to make and easy to link to others.

Nookazon is... okay. If you want to sell or buy something fast it's a good choice, but a lot of sellers are crazy greedy. Also it lacks an item filter for the wishlist, you need to make separate ones for every type of item, and you can't link them separately. The team working on Nookazon is great though, they're working hard on updating the site and will listen to feedbacks.

I prefer VillagerDB because I ONLY want to show my catalog and/or wishlist, not sell or buy things. (Thats why I have here)
I just hate how LONG your catalog ends up being since it doesnt do pages. On comp it isnt too bad because you can easily search with like Ctrl+F. On mobile it can be laggy or annoying to try and search depending your connection and phone age. I even split my catalog up some to try to prevent this, but with all the color variations that is difficult.

Haha I think they literally added that feature last night so I don't blame you for not knowing! I check their twitter from time to time for updates!

They all have their pros and cons and so it's the tiny little things make a big difference since they all the sites essentially perform the same function for the most part! Honestly I might eventually put in my catalog for most if not all of them :')

Yeah I view Nookazon solely as a marketplace so it would be a pretty good place for wishlists but not for cataloging imo. I actually am friends with the creator of Nookazon irl which is pretty neat! I know how much time and work he and the team put into it and it's nice seeing the site be so successful.

Ooo yeah I'm mostly on desktop so I like seeing everything all at once but if I used my phone a lot for cataloging I could definitely see how laggy that would make it.

I use villagerdb to look for catalog items and keep a list of what I need.
