Right now I'm working on a few goals, both big and small. I don't have a time limit I want to get them done in, I'm just taking it all slowly and doing multiple at once so as to not get bored and stretch out my play time more.
My main goal is trying to get pwps from my villagers, no luck so far but I'm determined. ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧ Even if a piece of my soul dies with every "hey give me a catchphrase/greeting!" ping.. I'm also working on landscaping in front of town hall, I have the fountain set up now and some bushes mirrored off to both sides along with some minimum decor on one side. The gardening shop just opened today so I'm going to work on getting more flowers for that area plus the silver watering can and golden axe. Another big goal is setting up basements for both of my characters and expanding/decorating them. I'm going to be making alot of island trips for that heh Annnd I'm currently trying to breed black roses so I can let them wilt to get gold ones (I want to breed my own instead of buying them, since I'm bad at breeding usually so I figure it will help me..somehow lol).

So what are you working on? Any long/short term goals?

probably just 100% the museum, and to get a picture of each of my villagers. i'd also like to try and hack my town one of these days to fix house placements but i'm too scared at the moment.

oh, i also really want that rotating cube public work project thing

I'm slowly landscaping two towns. I can't go faster than planting seven or eight saplings/shrubs per day because I can't envision well enough to be sure things will look nice, so I let them grow for a couple of days and then go from there. I mostly like that slow process of seeing things grow in an almost wave pattern.

I'm also waiting on pwps. Sometimes I'll get them several days in a row and then nothing for awhile. And they generally are things I don't know what to do with like the sphinx lol. But I got my campsite in one town almost done today, so that's one big goal I had that is almost accomplished. It was a challenge because Tex moved in RIGHT next to the campsite before I'd learned about laying patterns or plot resetting. I think it turned out well and actually looks like a secluded area even though Tex is practically on top of it lol.

Right now my biggest goal is to greatly re-landscape my town. I want to put in more bushes, trees, and bamboo shoots. However I'm just stumped on how I want to arrange everything, so I'm slowly considering things while I hoard all the trees/bushes I can. I feel this goal will take me a good while, but it's nice to focus on as it gives me something to do. :3

Good luck on your goals!

finalizing my town.
kicking the hell spawn Rodney out, and bring in my beloved Julia.
having a 3rd playable Character, mostly for new designs/paths.
getting all the badges from Phineas.
making my villagers happy. ( and keep them that way )
making their homes look awesome, ( and hopefully keep it that way )
helping out friends with their towns ( in which ever way possible )

this... and possibly more that i can't think of right now

Get all the villagers I want (this is hard cause I keep changing who I want in twilight, my other two towns are good), set up paths/landscape, fix both my mayor and side character’s house. Though I’m mad that we HAVE to have an upper room :/ I don’t want it in my second character’s house... though whatever. My other two towns are accomplished already so there’s nothing to really do with them :/.. well actually! My son JUST deleted his character (ugh) and his character was the one who had the paths ;o; so now I have to remake his character again just for the paths ;o;... I find it dumb that they give the option to “remake town” to the side character’s... makes me super scared to let my son play. Luckily my husband and I talked about how we are going to get him his own game.. since he loves it so much.

finally landscaping my entire town to my own satisfaction. certain parts of it are finished but I still have a lot left to do. p: I have all the materials I just need some ideas to magically pop into my head.

hmm...

- try not to time travel at all (helps that whenever you do time travel backwards in December, your villagers want new Toy Day presents)
- find the perfect hairstyle to match my Santa outfit
- hopefully unload all of the birthday gifts and Christmas presents to my IRL friends on Christmas (one of them is taking up at least 40 spaces in my closet)
- buying paper/letters to send to my villagers before New Years, before I restart my game to do the OYC

Before the next AC comes out I want to have one town for each season with a Dream Address for each town.

I want a dream spring town around the time before cherry blossoms, a summer town with hydrangeas, my fall town and a winter town. I have two towns with public Dream Adresses... two to go. I?ve know the weather I want in each town.

PWPs- oh how I want them in one of my towns. I had a streak of three boring PWPs - and I was excited good ones were on the way - and now....nothing. Zip. Zilch. I?m working on being patient and hopeful.

Then keep working on my badges. I just accomplished StreetPass silver on my oldest town - that was a surprise!!

To end my sharing on this post... I have had this town for 2.5 years. I have just clocked 300 hours in my WIP town. Phineas just gave me the badge. And I want so many more. New Leaf is almost perfect but the battle for PWPs makes it almost unbearable at times.

My main goal at the moment is to shuffle around a couple villagers from one town to another and to acquire a few more of my dream villagers from the Villager Trading Plaza here on the forums so that I can finally have my towns filled with as many of my dream villagers as possible. A few of my side goals are to purchase new items that were added with the Welcome Amiibo update and to figure out what songs to use as town tunes for two of my towns.

Once the villager issue is complete, I think I might start looking into finding path patterns and seeing if that would work out. Only potentially though, as I don't think my town layouts look good enough to make paths visually appealing.

My Current Goal's are to 100% the Museom and Remodel the Train Station.

Finish my town so I can release my DA, Really all I need left is to furnish my house and finish a few areas a bit.

This is how I play as well.

on some of the points you raise:
Getting PWPs - main advice is to use the diving trick, I haven't done so, but will do so if I feel the need.
I don't get a PWP request daily, but get fairly often, maybe 2 to 3 a week - I make sure I always take pings with my Mayor, even if I'm carrying rares, as those PWP requests can come any time. Always load at least twice per day with the Mayor.

I usually put in a fountain in front of the THall, its a PWP from the beginning & it protects against villager move ins. Flowers, trees and bushes do not protect from move ins, its easy to forget as they look so 'solid'. Need to protect areas with PWP, tiles and by plot resetting. I use a combo.

I often keep alt houses to just the first (upper room) & basement, can be fully expanded as that doesn't alter the outside shape of the house - remains small.

Edit: My current goal - just to be able to play, I have several towns, which is nice but I can't keep up with. I freeze time to play every ingame day, a bit swamped, but I love playing and I play slow. Not wanting to get anywhere fast, just want to play.

Get the damn picnic blanket that will never happen :^^^) Also move in the last villagers I need :3

Short term I'm making this little area where I am going to put a firepit and hammock. I've got it all landscaped I just need the request!

Long term I'm working on everything else; making dirt paths and other landscaping, filling up the museum, and decorating my house.
