Good, it means Nintendo is focusing on the southern hemisphere aswell. I doubt they are forgetting about the south.

edit: also i doubt many SH people are getting married in June (I'm not positive on when wedding season would be for them)
also they didnt show clips of diving in winter in the preview

reading the other thread (i don't recommend it), that seems to be the main complaint among SH players -- that it's "unrealistic" to be diving in winter as if a) that isn't literally something some people do, b) the in-game weather has ever had a physical effect on your character and c) anything in this game comes close to "realistic".

imo if diving in the winter takes you out of the game as much as people are claiming, that sounds like a you problem and not a Nintendo/AC one.

Yeah, I also find it odd how some people are acting like no one in real life goes diving to harvest sea creatures during the winter. I mean, off the top of my head I know that haenyeo do that, and there are surely many other people who do it as well.

yeah because japan is in summer right now. literally means nothing else.

It's pretty much this. SH players feel they aren't being treated fairly because Nintendo chose to call it the Summer Update, and that's exclusionary because it's currently winter in the SH. Those who don't sympathize are being called privileged, which is ridiculous.

Everyone will get the same update at the same time, and will all get to dive on July 3rd. The only difference is the grass will be green in the NH, and white in the SH.

the whole thread is really quite ironic because they're labelling NH players as privileged simply for being able to dive in the summer when, in reality, privilege is being in a position to complain about that sort of thing despite all the garbage going on in the world right now.

Tsk, what babies. I seriously don't understand the argument. We're getting an update. It's not an exclusive update for the northerns. No one is more "privileged" and what an awful word to use at this time, as you've pointed out with all the real upset that is going on in the world. Just seems like a big overreaction that seriously has no merit to back it up other than probable misunderstanding. All that matters, when it comes to the update, is that we get to swim and get the mermaid furniture, too. Which we are. Of course we are. Why wouldn't we? That'd be like having two children and giving only one child a toy. That's asking for upset and a fight between the children.
