what's the rarest bug/fish you've caught so far?

today i caught an oarfish using bait and a sturgeon. haven't found any rare bugs yet, the rarest ones i've found are emperor butterflies and tarantulas which are pretty common at night.

.... Football fish. I caught 3 in a row.. Maybe not so impressive, but it made me happy. Is it bad their appearance was kind of jarring to me in this game though? I felt a pang of disappointment. I miss their teeth, but I love the detail everywhere else, and I love the new tank. It's cute you can click the tank to shut the esca on/off.. Hm.

Goldfish tank I was mad about. No more goldfish bowl. New one is pretty, but looks more like outdoor decor so that's where it is..

I got the coelacanth or something like that today. I was really going for that one so I was quite happy. Although the red snapper isn't rare or very profitable, its still my fave fish to catch after the sharks (even though I still haven't seen a shark.) The red snapper looks beautiful imo.

I agree the football fish look weird in this game. I suppose it’s realistic that a deep sea fish would look like a deflated football out of the water but I prefer their old scary look! Now they’re just sad.

I had a heart attack when I pulled the oarfish out. It just kept coming and coming...

The Football/Angler Fish isn't really that rare, as I keep on finding them every time I fish at night.

Funnily enough, my first rare fish was the Coelacanth. Then I found a Sturgeon while hunting for a rare island with the nook miles ticket.

although i have fainted many many times to tarantulas already over ten times by now.. on my own island and islands i visited with my nook miles tickets!

I've gotten 3 sturgeon fish so far, but nothing as impressive as an oarfish or coelacanth.

Football fish/sturgeon - considering I never managed to catch either in the years I had my NL town, catching them both on my second day was a pleasant surprise lmao

There are 3 fish I've only caught once - Tuna (this only appears near the peer), Coelacanth and Sturgeon (mouth of river). These are my 3 rarest.

I thought the Tarantula would be pretty rare but I've caught 6 of them.

Got an Oarfish after grinding for a while yesterday, and I got lucky enough to have rain for a few hours this morning and go a coelacanth! As for bugs, I think Tarantula is my rarest. I also got a mole cricket early on which I hated getting in New Leaf so I'm happy about that.

i don't know about rare, but my fav bug so far is the orchid mantis. its design is just so beautiful!

I've caught two Oarfish so far... I feel like I play for hours and don't see any extra large fish though, am I doing something wrong?

I got a sturgeon yesterday and caught an oarfish about an hour ago! I didn't realise they were rare so reading this has made me happy lol

I'm not really sure what counts as rare...

I caught a tarantula....I also caught an Orchid Mantis. Don't know if that's rare but it looked cool.
