What's the last movie you've seen?

Last Friday was this month's episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs on the Shudder streaming service. The first movie they featured was City of the Dead, released in 1960 and directed by John Moxey. They followed it up with the 1998 movie Ringu, directed by Hideo Nakata.

I hadn't seen City of the Dead before, though I'd previously been familiar with this line delivery by Christopher Lee, so it was nice to finally see the movie it originated from, haha. I thought it was all right.

Hadn't seen Ringu in years, so it was nice to revisit that as well.

Last night I watched Fallen Angels! I didn't like it as much as I love Chungking Express which feels like the daytime version of it, but I did like it, I think it'll benefit a lot from a rewatch now that I know what happens since it's so vibes based

The film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. If there's multiple film adaptations (which feels very likely) it's the one with Leonardo DiCaprio. It was for my English class (we were reading TGG at the time and just finished the book).

I finally got around to watching Top Gun: Maverick.I thought the first Top Gun was a decent albeit shallow and vacuous movie and Maverick is much the same but with a bit more emotional depth(did I say depth??)than its predecessor.I like the way Tom Cruise played old Maverick.He still liked to get in trouble but he chooses his chaos with more care this time around.And he owns a pristine vintage P-51 Mustang in the movie(as he does in real life).

On Sunday night I finally got around to checking out director Robert Eggers' version of Nosferatu which released last year. I liked it.

I recently watched Final Destination: Bloodlines in 4DX at the theater with my boyfriend, and we both really enjoyed it. It’s definitely one of my favorites in the series.

Watched The Field today, and holy crap, it's a heavy movie. I was not expecting any of the stuff in it to happen, and it was so sad?? Like genuinely, especially because things like that (eg the land being bought up) actually happened. I actually hated Tadhg though, why was he so annoying

Final Destination Bloodlines was the last movie I watched. Pretty good movie.

I watched Starman(1984),which is about an alien who comes to Earth after his species finds the Voyager Golden Record and decides to pay us a visit.While he's here he inhabits the body of an Earth woman's dead husband.John Carpenter directed Starman and sometimes his movies can get a bit cheesy but he plays it fairly straight with this one.It's a good slice of light science fiction.

I've been on a bit of a Hunger Games kick again lately, and finally got around to watching the most recent movie in the series, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Fantastic movie, and it has me really looking forward to the next Hunger Games movie, Sunrise on the Reaping, which was an amazing book as well!
