What's a game that can make you feel like a child again?

Banjo Tooie for N64 was my first favorite video game.

Sonic 2 for Sega Genesis will also always be nostalgic, particularly the first level’s boss fight.

And there’s also just something so... stirring and nostalgic about the New Bark Town theme from Pokemon Crystal. I remember playing that game after I received it for Christmas one year and being SO happy that the trainer could finally be a girl.

That theme brings me back to picking out my first Cyndaquil again!

Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Tetris, Super Mario, and Nintendogs. Cooking Mama too! :)

SNES: Harvest Moon, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Secret of Mana and Legend of Zelda. SEGA: Shining Force 2 and Beyond Oasis <3

any gen 4 pokemon game, especially pmd: explorers of sky and platinum. they were one of the first games i ever played. im still hoping that these games get remakes! i would love to relive part of my childhood

Sims 2 Pets, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Pokemon Sapphire and Pearl, Katamari Damacy.

frogger 2, honestly 😂 the hours i clocked on that old grey desktop for this game...the multiplayer was PEAK for its time, great maps, fun mini games, intense music, all around best in show. i think it did a great job of appealing to different joys and honestly forced so much coordination and clever thinking with it's time limits and different traps etc.

honorable mention for zelda oracles: seasons and ages, and pokemon sapphire & ruby. i think they both really amplified an age in storytelling and graphics in games - the images of maps or tracks from these send me swooping back through nostalgia to a pixelatedpast where everything was a bit greener on the other side of the car window. parfait. ✨🍃

other than animal crossing, Spyro definitely brings back nostalgia! Love the remastered too ♡

Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars, any of the older side-scrolling Sonic games, Rocket Knight Adventures, Earthworm Jim, Streets of Rage 2, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, etc. There's quite a list! I'm a 90's kid so I grew up during the 16-bit era.

Probably A Hat in Time? It reminded me of the older Rare-esque games I enjoyed playing. It came out when I wasn't technically a kid anymore, but it had all those feels. Yooka Laylee tried so hard to capture that same feel, but it felt so outdated and frankly bad. Playtonic feels stuck in the past while Gears and Breakfast pretty much did the same thing, but worked it in a way that meshed well and felt modern even if both games came out around the same time.

When I play Ocarina of Time it reminds me of being a child playing the game for the first time, I played it so much growing up that its always a fond memory of my childhood. Along with the Pokemon and Mario games.

I don't think this should include Animal Crossing, since this is all about Animal Crossing here, so basically any other game.

Personally for me, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is currently the only game that can make me feel like a kid again whenever I play it. I play it at least once a year ever since the first year I played it.
Pokemon The card version tho and Cod Black ops 1

Super Mario Bros. on NES, as well as Excitebike and Mike Tyson's Punch Out. Playing those games at my neighbors house was magical. I felt anxiety when the sun started to go down and I knew I had to go home for dinner 😆

some computer games like webkinz ... there was a store near our house that would sell webkinz for 3 dollars out of some bins and it was so exciting whenever we got to get one ! i had a huge collection thats mostly lost now ...

Do you mean nostalgic or literally makes me feel like a child?

I can’t say any game makes me feel like a child.

If you meant nostalgic, Pokemon Sword I think since it has some of the charm that the originals had that I loved. (Speaking of which I need to get back to playing this and eventually renew my Pokemon Home subscription too). Pokemon violet was fun, but I felt like it was so different from the originals - not that that is a bad thing (the bugs and connection issues though is a different story).

Maybe Mario Party since I loved the first four so much; none of the new ones had the same charm that the originals had but I did enjoy Jamboree (hoping to play more of it with some friends and for tbt events in the future).
