you would convince the villager to move then go to retail to pay right? cause otherwise the person can just end the session after you pay but didn't convince the villager, even if it is unlikely you can never be too cautious

Some people do half payment, talk to villager, rest of payment. That also holds a risk (:s?) if the person escapes fast enough? xD. I usually just drop all the payment and then proceed to talk. If the person has a lot of positive ratings (30+), I feel it would be unlikely. But, there's always that thought in the back of your mind :P

To answer your question, I think the "right" way (in my opinion) is pay up front and then go? If they decide to kick you out, quickly hit wi-fi switch. For 2DS users... welp (power? xD)

i doubt the person could run to the train station before the player could flip the wifi switch. as for the kicking you out thing, i am confused e.e

What I'd do would be to first convince them, then pay. To me, millions of Bells is harder to get than a villager, so you're more at steak. Either way, both parties could easily hit the wifi switch.

That's true LOL, but you never know~ And what I meant is, after you pay, they hit the wifi switch before you can get to the villager; so before it loads out and saves, hit the wifi switch (if this works?)

If somebody tries to scam you then you just hit the wireless switch...
It doesn't take a genius to figure this out, so I think it's a bit needless to make a thread on how to safely trade

I let people talk to/convince the villagers first, then pay through retail. If they try to leave without paying (scamming), I flip the wifi switch (recommended for all scamming situations).
