Smash Bros What will the first SSB4 tier list look like?

For those of you who don't know, the professional Smash community puts together a tier list from time to time to update who the best characters are, as well as who the worst are. They'll organize it all neat and nice, and then put it on the internet.

My question is, who do you think will be at the top and bottom of the tier list? There's a lot of characters now, and certain ones are going to have to be excluded, so for the sake of realism let's count out Miis and customizable characters.

I read that Yoshi, Rosalina and Greninja are all high tier. But I've not personally played the fill game.

Mega Man's going to be bottom tier.

Although I'm really good with Mega Man and he's one of my mains in Smash 4, it's so obvious at this point that I'm not going to bother.

I could definitely see Rosalina and Greninja being extremely deadly in the hands of an experienced player. Plus iirc, didn't Rosalina top in a tourney recently?

Hell, Greninja was the guy that helped me clear hard All-Star if that's any indication. (I mean AI was pretty dumb and just let me spam my down-air on them, but...)

I'd say Little Mac could have a decent shot as well, but iirc actual tourneys don't run solely on Final Destination, where he shines best for obvious reasons.

Here are the current public voted tiers for Smash Bros 3DS. I like seeing that Sheik is number 2 as Sheik is my main, but it is interesting that the top few characters are moderately difficult to play really good.

It's too early to make one, but judging from FG...

Great ones include Rosalina and Luma, Greninja, Sheik, and Yoshi
Good ones include Bowser and Little Mac(not great because easily exploitable [ horrid recoveries ]), Sonic because gosh high priorities.
Prominent ones include Ness(I keep seeing him and he's good), Diddy Kong(oh if you've only watched the replays, the people who only play him are pretty awesome).

The rest, I don't know, the game seems pretty balanced for now, and the patches will help balancing these things, so the meta will change a lot.

Keep in mind that some characters are pretty underrated, like Donkey Kong.

Of course, early tier lists are always inaccurate, because metagame and all hasn't developed.
Besides, this tier makes me sad because Shulk (my main) is 3rd from bottom...

In reality, the metagame won't show up until the Wii U version comes out.
So we'll have to wait and see.

Which unless I missed it, I can't remember confirmation of this ever happening.



The possibility is there at least, but that's not the same as it happening.

Pretty much, especially in Smash 4 because it's more simple than other Smash games in a way.

Honestly I can't say I've seen anything that deserves a balance patch. I've fought some good Little Mac's, and lost, but they aren't an unstoppable force. If you know what you're doing it's easy to get rid of them.

They got confirmed a few days ago didn't they? And 1.0.3 balanced Palutena, Megaman and Marth supposedly.
