Gen 4, Pearl.
My parents didn't want me and my brother playing videogames, so it took a looong time for us to convince them to let us try at least one game
Gen 1 with Pokemon Yellow...
Though, I didn't beat it, until much later.
I, apparently, didn't know how to read. So, I didn't understand that Pikachu did nothing against Brock's pokemon, and Pikachu was all I had at the time. Then my game broke, after I gave up. I played it years later, and beat it with Venusaur.
My first game was Gold for the gameboy on an emulator, but my first real game was platinum. I still have my original save file, my team was Infernape, Luxray, Togekiss, Gastrodon, Gallade, and Lucario.
I started with Generation 1, Pokemon Blue version. My starter was Charmander and since I was a dumb little kid that was pretty much the only pokemon I wound up leveling up throughout the game.
I can't even remember if I ever beat the elite four the first time I played.
Generation 4, Diamond. I came pretty late to the Pokemon games because I just didn't have the interest and my parents didn't have the money beforehand.
Generation 1, borrowed my friend's Red version and was immediately hooked. Went out and bought my own Blue version later that year - and I haven't looked back. Happy to say I'm not a genwunner though - Gen 2 was definitely my favorite - I think it was a high point for Pokemon's popularity, and I loved Johto.
God, I've been playing Pok?mon for as long as I remember. In fact, I don't even remember what my first game was. I think my brother and I shared the Red cartridge. Or was it Blue? Or did we have both? Maybe it was both. I actually remember playing the Yellow version though.
Wow, I started play pokemon very late!
I remember I got Pokemon Black because my neighbor got 2 of them by accident
and we are friends and he knew I had a 3DS so he gave a copy to me
and I failed completely and he had to show me how to do everything like 100 times...
Oh I never said my gen!
It was gen 5...; v ;;
